Neal,
Thanks again for all of your efforts in pulling together all of this information, and finding the actual parts for pictures, its fantastic. I find it all very interesting, and if not for your work, there would be no way for many of us to access this information.

Re: rock moss green paint source
Hey Kevin, I had done body work as a sideline for quite a few years, and had been away from it for 12-15 years when I decided to freshen up my dads dump truck for a national show. Believe me, I was also shocked at how much the price of paint products had risen in that time. I think your best bet on ...

Re: rock moss green paint source
I recently had to do some touch-up work on a 31 AA that my father had restored in 1969. This truck was Rock Moss Green. I took a hood panel to a local body shop that has a spectrometer to match colors when the original formula is unknown, or no longer available. The color the machine came up with is...

Re: 28-29 cab rain gutters
30-31 gutters are black, I would think the 28-29 would also. Car gutters are all black, I believe. Original gutters snap together tightly, so you may have to do a little modifying on the repos to get them to fit tight.

Re: 4 speed floor mat
Stew, you have a picture of how it turned out? I'll try to see about getting a picture posted. I'm technologically challenged when it comes to these things. On the reproduction mat I had, the shifter tower hole was cut for the standard 3 speed transmission. Around the hole, was a flat area maybe 1/...

Re: 4 speed floor mat
I used the regular rubber mat that the vendors sell. For my 31 I just cut the shift tower hole bigger, and had to re-cut the hole for the handbrake. Otherwise, it fit fine, check it again, maybe you still can use it.

Re: 4 speed floor mat
In regards to the floor mat, I was looking through the Ford Service Bulletins book, and on bulletin page 534 (book page 260) January 1931, there is a notice for the dump body floor mat. There is an illustration that shows the mat with the shift tower and handbrake hole similar to the car floor mat, ...

Re: 1 1/2 Weight Tag
For a number of years, Wisconsin issued 'Not For Hire' tags for trucks. These were always painted the same color as the truck license plate for the given year. In Wis. the truck plates and car plates were not the same color for the same year. Maybe this holds true for your state also?

Vintage Canada Magazine 1978
I am looking for a copy of the July/August 1978 Vintage Canada Magazine, which was the publication of The National Association of Antique Automobile Clubs of Canada, now known as The National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada. This issue contains an article on the 1978 Model A Homecoming Mee...

Want literature, Marion Steel Body Co.
I am looking for literature for the dump body on my 31 AA. It was made by the Marion Steel Body Co., of Marion, Ohio. It is a hydraulic unit, model # 5. Also looking for literature for a Detroit Harvester PTO for the AA.
Thanks,
Stew

Picture on www.thehenryford.org
I was at the Ford Museum website www.thehenryford.org and was browsing their photos. I entered the keyword 'AA truck' and in one of the pictures (photo id # P.189.7744) a '30 dump truck with the box in the up position, I noticed that the factory picture shows the truck with a tail light mounted on t...

Re: 1929 AA Dump trucks
I have a 31 with a Marion dump body that has been on the truck since it was new. The dump body does not contact the frame rails, and they have never been cut. As Keith says, it all depends on the dump body itself.

check with the CA DMV or the state historical society if they have records back that far. Good luck, it may still be in someone's garage!
