Re: lugnuts wanted
In April 1929 Ford recalled and upgraded the spindle body on existing AA's to an AA part.(Kingpin remained the same). At that time 15/16" lug nuts were changed to 1 1/8" acorn style. I assume Ford scrapped the recalled earlier style which makes them rare. Any existing examples of the earli...

Re: Newmarket, NH fire truck
With a two blade fan the water pump/fan can be removed without removing the radiator. Not so, with a four blade fan. Red hoses are authentic and available and color coordinated with fire trucks. Best, Ed

Re: Newmarket, NH fire truck
Fans are cheap compared to buying a new radiator or hood or both. Probably TAMS model A in Massachusetts is your nearest vendor and nice to deal with. The thrill of a broken off blade flying around under the hood is something you don't want to experience as I have denting the hood in two places lopp...

Re: Old tires stuck on rims
As you can see from the above photos the snap ring is twisted on one and a huge gap on another. Before prying the ring off it should be free ALL the way around the wheel. Prying it off while it is rusted in place destroys the ring. I soak the ring on the wheel first with penetrating oil and bang awa...

As they say in the Army "You need a field expedient". The top of the pint can (brush on) enamel green engine paint fits the front perfectly. It's a tap in fit It won't fit the rear as the axle sticks out a little too far. I also use Altoids tins, but they don't fit very well. I have some of...

Re: Always wondering about my AA
In the photo the clip that keeps the spring leaves in place needs to be moved up to the squared off leaf with the hole in it. The clip fits in that hole.

Re: Spare tire Carrier

It is listed on pp.112 of the 1928-1932 Ford Parts Price List and on page 2 of the 6-22-31 Indianapolis Ford Service Letters. It is the ONLY Ford AA ac...
