Posting your For Sale or Wanted notices

If you are posting 4 sale or "Wanted" messages, be sure to include where you are located (or item for sale is located) the price and a way to contact you.

If you are refering to an Ebay item, include the Ebay item number so others can quickly find your stuff.

Re: New Restoration Project

Good afternoon everyone. Pleased to meet you. I am new to AA restoration - but have a '31 A pickup (almost complete!). I've learned a lot and have a LOT left to learn. I recently purchased a '31 AA dump out of the proverbial farmers field. I need six wheels (5 slot) - are these what you refer to as...

31 AA Progress Pics

Its been a while since I've been able to work on my truck, but earlier this spring I managed to complete the running gear, with exception to the wheels which will hopfully be done this winter.

I'm hoping to start on the cab sheet metal next month.

Re: Front Tire Clearance

When I bought my 1929 AA, it had two new 6.50x20 tires on the back but the front tires were bad. I ordered two new 6.50x20 Firestones from Coker and have now installed them on the front. The only problem is that I have only about a half inch or less clearance between the tires and the outside fende...

relining emergency brake bands

I'm about to reline my parking brake bands this weekend, I have the lining material, rivets and the tool to drill and set the rivets.

Was wondering if any body had some tips on doing a good job, such as how deep do you drill into the lining, rivet setting tricks and so on.

Thanks !

Re: How Much 600W Oil Do I need to....

Fill up the 30/31 style rear axle, the 4 speed AA transmission, and a 29 Warford?? I drained nearly a gallon of thick oil from the rear axle, but not sure how full it was. The seals were bad and brakes were soaked. I'm estimating 2 gallons should be enough for all three units. Anyone know the capac...

Re: FORD FRONT AXLE

I am retiring my old trailer. It is built on a ford front axle. I was told it was a Model AA truck axle. The onle clue I have is that the bearing cover say Ford in the old script and made in USA. They look like brass with cad plating. The cover is treaded to the axle with a 2-1/8-24 thread. Is the ...

Re: tire change

I saw a suggestion that you can wrap chain around the tire, split ring, and thru the holes in the rim and mount them safely. Thats what I intend to do. Of course, fasten the ends of the chain. Don't forget to use a clip on type air chuck that you can operate from a few feet away. Even when the bead...

Re: Changing Tires ?

Hello Gerald, Take care when removing the split ring, try not to gall or damage it when prying it out. You will need two "spoons" to remove the ring, probably the quickest and safest way to have your tires replaced is to take both the new tires and old tire/rims to the local les schwab or ...

AA Rear Bearings

Try Synders, talk to Don if you can. They had some bearings available for the 30/31 trucks.

The bearings I got were two piece for each side, not the one piece bearings.

Some of the AA stuff is not listed in the catalog, so you really should call and talk to Don.

Re: Rear hubs and bearings question 30/31

Hi Tim, if you are referring to the wheel hub, the earlier hubs had a pressed and pinned race for the bearing, later model hubs (the ones that are so hard to come by) do not have this arrangement. In one of my axles the bearings were either one piece, or two, it seems these days you can only get the...
