Re: Wanted: Model A king pins

There are two sets on Ebay now but neither are complete. One the
bushings and bearings are missing and the other only has the parts for
one side. Its has two pins but they look like they are for the same side.

Re: Wanted: 1928-29 Rear axle shaft outer grease seals

Napa has both the axle seal,AA-4245-AR and the hub seal, AA-1175-AR.
AA-4245-AR is NAPA # NOS16201, ID 1.625 OD 2.441 and AA-1175-AR
is NAPA # NOS26921, ID 2.687 OD 3.881

Re: Rear axle speed

I was eastbound on the 210 near the 15 when he went by me one day. I tried to catch him but
he went onto the southbound 15 before I got up to him.

I think it was Medicine Bow Motors. I did a search and it looks
like they are still in business in Florence MT south of Missoula.

Re: 1930 Ford AA stop/brake light switch?

The trick to getting the pipes together without a union is you screw
one end in as tight as you can then line up the fitting at the other end
and then as you unscrew the first end it starts screwing into the other
end. Neither end is real tight.

Re: U joint needed

That is not the u-joint he needs. It goes between the trans and coupling shaft on
a BB. The listing is wrong as the BB drive line is bigger than the AA.

Re: AA model identification

It almost looks like the gas tank was made for the truck as it fits the contour of the
firewall perfectly. There is also something mounted behind the coil with some green
paint on it and a wire or line coming out the top.

The service bulletin says the mount is thicker not wider and the bolts from the
old mount will be to short.

I had to find a AA gear, the BB drive line is bigger from the trans u-joint
back to the pinion gear.

Re: 5:14 speedo drive gear

Russ,
That one looks OK. If it spins on the splines when you put it on the drive shaft
it is probably off a BB. Somebody put a BB one on my AA and it would just spin on the
spline as the BB splines are bigger.

I have to agree with Keith. I looked in my Canadian parts book and
the rear end and the hub caps are the same as on this truck.

Scott
If you have a lot of pitting I would have it sand blasted and then you can putty up the
bad spots and put on some sanding primer and block sand it to look like new.
