I will be testing this theory tonight and sure would like to get this thing in.
It looked so easy in the DVD I watched.
Isn't that always the way.

Rebuilt Front End Not Fitting
I rolled my completed front end back under my truck, attached the radius ball and then found the front spring was forward about 1 ½ inches. I read where I need to verify my spring perches are exactly spot on and will remove the spring and check. Anybody else have any ideas on what may not be right f...

Re: Front spring tie bolt predicament
I recently finished rebuilding my the front spring on my A and used John Deere slip plate on the backs.
I can't wait to see how the assembly works.

Re: Brake Issues
Kinda sounds like one of more of the brake linings came off the shoe(s) and rolled up inside your drum.
I'd think about removing the front drums and have a look.
I've never seen this but have read about it happening.

Re: Shortened Pitman Arm?
I saw that short one too. I just ordered a new one and got the standard size. I'm not quite sure what the short one will do. Quicker steering maybe? Clearence shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Front Spindle Problem
I had my grease holes lined up. I'm not sure if the thing was bent before I did my work. I picked that spindle up in Colorado.
Mike's found me another one and it is on its way.
I will check the new one out before I do anything this time.
Thanks for your help,
Marty

Front Spindle Problem
I pressed out my front spindle bushings and pressed in new ones. I took the spindles to a honing shop along with my king pins for a good fit. One spindle worked out fine. The other appears to have bent during the pressing operation and now the king pin holes are not in line and do not match up. One ...

Engine Weight
I plan on delivering one of my engines to be rebuilt and want to know the weight before I load it up.
I will remove the transmission so no weight totals are needed for it.
Thanks guys,
Marty

Re: Front Axle
I've purchased a video from Deablo showing a complete front end rebuild. One section has a guy straightening an axle. He does quite well with the set up and tools he uses. What usually bends the end of the axle back is parking against curbs. I want to straighten that and then adjust so that the king...

Front Axle
What is the angle in degrees of the front axle where the king pins go through.
Camber right?
I've heard 5 degrees and 9 degrees. I'm not sure which is correct.
I am having a hard time finding this one specification and want my axle looked at.
Thanks

Front Spindle Question
Anybody know if front spindles on my AA are the same as the ones on my A?
My recent purchase of a 28 roadster pickup has a broken right spindle and someone welded it up.
Anyone have any of these that might work. I'd like to go ahead and get left and right and try to do it right.

Re: Inner Race
Shelby: I purchased all new races and bearings to do my front end. When I put the new races in, I used a Loctite cylindrical retaining compound, don't remember the number. I tried removing the race in question this morning and it would not budge. I plan on going ahead with packing the bearings and a...
