The radiator is going to be to tall with the 28 29 front crossmember.
Yes, you can put a 28/29 on a 30/31 but not the other way around. The 30/31 crossmember has lowered radiator mounting pads to make up for the height difference.

Re: Putting Wire Spokes on the '28/'29

Can someone with wire spoke wheels measure and post the diameter opening in the wheel for the hubcap? Curious as to what I can find to snap in there.

Re: AA spring perches WTB

Well what i did was braze the bushing to the worn out perch, ream round again and it will be good for many many years as long as you keep grease in it like its designed. As they were they were worn and junk as the shackle wore thru to the casting - might as well prolong them another lifetime.

Re: Assembly order?

My guess is when starting with a bare frame is warford or dual high, attach the U joint for the rear axle and attach that next so you can have a stable platform - also a way to move the driveshaft to align the trans to warford. Then engine trans combo last. Make sure you got all the u joint gaskets ...

Re: Wanted - 28/29 closed cab subrails etc

there was on ebay exactly what you wanted for like $150 late last year. I just looked and couldn't find it... Might just search "model A" on ebay every now and then and hope it reappears.

Re: Axles too long?

I will try and install some hub caps tonight. I was worried the rear end went together wrong. FYI - If you assembled the rear axle from other axles, then the worm drive without emergency brakes had longer axles than the worm drive with emergency brakes. This is true BUT if he used later 29 axles on...

And your SURE its from inside the engine? Could be flywheel/clutch related. Does it do it in neutral when your stopped and revving the engine? Clutch depressed and revving VS released?

Is it only under a load? What about when in reverse? driveshaft can transmit sounds to many places...
