Re: Finally acquired my '31 AA!
I just noticed that old GE refrigerator next to the newer one with a sign on it. I have one just like it and it's still working. I keep my beer in it. The blue light still works when you open the door. Can't beat R-12 for coldness.

Re: Finally acquired my '31 AA!
That may be a grain box on the back of your truck. The motor is from a car as AA's started with an AA stamped on the engine. Your serial number is stamped on the frame rail under the drivers side cowl. Also I am going to curious how Illinois accepts your title transfer. They voided out a bunch of pr...

Re: Flathead V8 Installation

A 59A is a little shorter and is easier to install but it is still a lot of work. these are not bolt ins by any means. You are going to have to make new fron...

Re: Flathead V8 Installation
55 would be OHV not flathead just saying. That rear end is going to dictate your speed. A lot of work for very little improvement in my mind. You may want to upgrade that rear end while your at it. I have a FH V8 in my 31 Roadster with a 39 rear end. Makes a big difference. You need to give some tho...

Great looking survivor. I agree leave it alone. I would probably wipe it down with some kind of oil to keep the rust away.

Re: Steering column bracket
Those clamps are available from every supplier and at every swap meet you can go to. Pretty easy fix. If it was mine I would convert to the late 31 column drop and avoid the gas tank altogether.

These are steel drums right??? I don't think you turn them like you can the cast iron drums. There isn't enough meat in them to cut out.
