Looking through the pictures of the truck on the index page, I'm curios what the plate with the hole and teeth and is laying on the tire is for. I don't recognize it from my 31 AA

I think the photo blocked out what I wrote . I wanted to thank all helping and the photo is of what I found while cleaning out my garage, I parked it in 83 and have been piling junk on, in and around it since. Clamp the piece to be drilled in a drill vice, use the edge of a file to file a small flat across the threads of the bolt, eyeball and center punch the flat. Use a small center drill to start hole, remove center drill and drill correct size hole. Countersink to hide the flat.

I'm glad you asked this question as I have a AA that needs something. After reading Chris Haynes reply I thing I may save myself loads of work and do what I was doing before parking it back in 83.

Check the Airforce musuem at Dayton Ohio website. They have a 1931 AA stakebed on display. Don't know if they have a picture of it though.

Which mount are you refering to? The clevis mounts with the holes thru- looks like spring mounts. maybe the wheel base was shortened, you can see where the frame was cut. or, are you refering to the channel with the two plates with a verticle hole thru-.
