Re: WANTED: 1928 Model AA Lug Nuts
I do have one in my collection of Model A & AA cranks. It's the only one I've ever come across, I would not want to break up the collection, not yet anyway. I'll let you know if I decide to sell it, I'm sure you would give it a good home. How many different types of AA hand cranks were there?

Re: Clutch edjust
Upon further analysis it appears that someone in the past has tried adjusting the clutch by moving the clutch finger bolt settings. Is it possible to re-adjust the fingers in the truck and if so how can I determine the correct measurement?

Clutch edjust
My 1930 AA clutch does not take hole until the pedal is almost all the way back up. There is enough adjustment in the connecting arm to place the fingers about 5/8" from the levers but the clutch doesn't engage until the pedal is all the way released. Are the fingers out of adjustment? Why is t...

Re: Tires and rims fro 30 AA
1930 and 1931 AA wheels are the same. Some people call wheels "rims" but that is not correct, rims are just the outer rim part of a wheel. In the Model T days wheels were made with wood spokes and the rims were separate steel items, but not separate since then except on some of the really...

Re: Took a trip on MLK Day.
what were the boards under the bed made of? boards/beams that go between the bed and the frame rails... I think it varied, depending on where the trees came from. Mostly maple or ash or hard pine, judging from the beds I've seen. Oak would probably be a good wood to use for the cross joists since a...

Re: Tires and rims fro 30 AA
'30 rims will work for your '31 but the rear tires cannot be bigger than 6.00 x 20. If you want to use tires larger you will need the '31 wheels.

Re: Took a trip on MLK Day.
I hope you're not going to use that oak for your truck bed. Oak reacts to moisture and in time will buckle and curl. Use yellow pine or fir if you want it original and stable. Of course I am; that's what linseed oil is for. I'm going for the rustic look anyway. Don't say you weren't warned. ...

Engines are not worth much. If you found someone nearby you might ask $100- $150.

Re: Hand crank question
The early AA's had several different hand cranks, I have at least three different kinds. The '30-'31's used the standard Budd wrench. The original Budd sockets used a special rod upset on one end. Look at your parts books.

Index
I recently joined the club and would like to know if there is an index to the newsletters that would allow readers to search by subject or body style. Also is there a list of members' trucks by body style?
