Re: 1931 AA Stake 157wb
I hadn't really considered selling it until lately, but since I built the shed for it, I haven't had it out much. I have several other old vehicles, all of which require insurance and maintenance, plus the daily drivers and the truck for my business. Needless to say, like any self respecting car guy...

Also check Summit, I've read that they sell Cokers at cheaper prices and shipping, but I haven't verified that personally. Worth checking them all before you pull the trigger.

Drew, It's too bad your visit up here was during the miserable rain. Although not nearly as nice a place to live as California IMO, there are a few months each year when the weather here isn't too bad and BC can display its true beauty.

1931 AA Stake 157wb
I have reluctantly decided to put my AA up for sale and focus my efforts on my small business and self employment. I bought this truck about 4 years ago from western Washington and it was originally used around the Everett area. The truck is an indented firewall late 31, but has the fabric top. Fron...

Perhaps running the GAV too lean and/or improper timing.

To my knowledge:
28,29,30; Black Only

If the plates don't look right on the truck, scatter the booze bottles throughout the cab for that period "truck driver" look.

Re: Steel Top roof wood
I don't have pictures, but FWIW, the 32 BB that I had used about 4 stamped steel support ribs that ran width-wase across, under the roof skin. They were removable, fastened with screws at each end. As far as I know, there was no wood used in the roof sections of the steel top cabs. Perhaps this truc...

Re: NYPLDG 727537F
Good point. I wonder if one of the reasons you see photos of such beat up vehicles that actually weren't very old is because the automobile industry at that time was only about 30 years old, and people bought these things to put them to work. They probably didn't even consider resale or trade in val...

Re: new owner... with questions/want ads
Clean off all the grease from the bottom of the transmission and have a good look at the case to ensure it isn't cracked. It seems many of these old trucks sat out in the weather long enough for the fabric roof to start leaking and the rain water drips down the shifter and gets into the the trans. Y...

Re: High lights of the West coast?
I would recommend driving at least some of the Oregon coast, and then cut inland to McMinnville where the Evergreen aviation museum has the Spruce Goose. A very nice facility, not much old truck stuff there, but I do believe they have a Model A mail truck and a Ford Tri motor.

32 BB on ski hill
My dad took this picture for me because he knows I like old trucks, he wasn't sure what year it is, but from what I can see, it looks like a 32 BB 131wb, and in very nice shape. He was a priveledged guest to a private ski resort in Montana, and they have this warm up cabin with the old truck in fron...
