Re: Seat Back Attachment

Thanks All. Neil, would those welded on hooks only be up until late 1930 and then transition to the other style that Bob C posted? My truck is a February 1931, but I have 2 of the welded on versions. (Chris, good eye, the WLA w/sidecar is next in line after I finish the AA, then the Kettenkrad). Da...

Found the pictures for the seat back retainers.I think Neil posted these.82-B - Seat Back Retainers.jpg
FYI - My research shows that there were four of the upper retainers welded to the cab back and three lower retainers (one for each support board).

Re: For Sale 1928 Ford model AA 89A Express

The Bed is NOT a model TT bed.. it is a 89A EXPRESS bed just like the on pictured here; https://aafords.com/ Mine is exactly the same in every detail... 1928AA4X4Express – The photo of the rear of the express body pictured shows that it is actually a TT express. Re: AA Frame Welt

In the latest issue of the Restorer magazine, there is an article about installing frame welt. The author states that the AA's used 2" x 1/8" frame welt, versus 1-3/4" x 1/16" for passenger A's. I hadn't heard this before and I'm not sure it makes sense since the webbing is only...

Re: Early 1928 AA floor mats

Neil That is a good suggestion. I do have pieces of the original floor mat from my 1928 AA truck. My mat has a square area where the FORD logo goes as where the drawings show the oval logo. Unfortunately just the upper left corner of the logo area survived and none of the FORD survived. Does any on...

Re: Early 1928 AA floor mats

I have found a place that can make the floor mat for the early 1928 AA-82161 with Dual High with left hand break. It will cost $2500-$3000 to tool up for production. Is anyone interested in buying these mats if I go ahead and have some produced. W Simshauser, My research shows that the AA-82161 was...

Re: Spring perches

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Anyone know of a way to maybe try and repair these? I was thinking if I could get a brass rod the same size as the INside diameter and then build the metal with a welder and afterwords file down. Anyone ever try something like this? Any ideas are welcome! Sent fro...

Re: Spring perches

Can anyone tell me if the spring perches are the same as a regular A? I have some new spring perches for a regular A but don’t want to knock my old ones out only to find out that the ones I have won’t fit. Someone put new bushings in these before I got it but looks like the perches were either badl...

The one I pictured slides right over my spare AA drive shaft. I have another that is a bit larger in diameter, possibly BB. I'll get measurements today... Frank The AA u-joint measures 1.240" across the splines, Larger one measures 1.350" across splines. Great that you verified that it wa...

Re: AA Universal Joint

I recently purchased a group of universal joints that were advertised as Model AA joints. One universal joint is not the same as mine. I have an early 28 AA with the 3 speed transmission and the universal joint has 6 splines in and 10 splines out. This one has 10 splines in and 10 splines out. I ha...

Re: Front license plate clamp orientation

Actually, Ford didn't install license plates on the assembly line. Customers would have installed their license plates themselves. Customers likely install the plates in many different ways. So I don't know why the installation arrangement would be judged by the judges.

Re: Pitman Steering Arm

A shortened pitman arm results in a smaller turning radius. It allows for easier turning. Kind of like power steering.

This would be the same for both the a and the double a.

I have a 29AA is there any reason I can not use a 30/31 windshield? I think tho only difference is the hinge top. I messed up the hinge grinding the heads of screws off on the 29. The 30 is in great shape.
You don't define what cab your AA has. Refer to https://aafords.com/cabs/

The attached AA is restored to very-original. An additive was use to dull the paint to simulate unpolished lacquer. If I can butt into your thread a minute: Neil, what additive was used to dull the paint to simulate unpolished lacquer, It looks very convincing? AAholic, Sorry, I don't know. The own...
