Re: Rust in gas tank problem
Rust in the tank, I had good luck mine was bad. First I took the tank valve off made sure it was dry. Then I used a small base light bulb to light the inside of the tank through the fill. A lot of rust. Then I took a shop vac made an adapter to a small rubber hose and vacuumed out what I could. Then...

Worm gear up rear bearing
I have been driving my 28 CC,platform with a worm high speed rear end. I have heard that bearing failure due to lack of oil to that bearing is not uncommon. It seems splash does get to the bearing. Has any one else heard of this and is there a solution. I was wondering If a grease fitting in the plu...

DONE!! (28 CC Platform Truck)
A little over 2 years and it's on the road and runs great. I picked the truck up for the cab and was going to parts the rest out. I was amazed when it arrived there was no rust, it had mouse damage under the seat and a few dents. The truck had a frame off restoration, only the engine and paint were ...

Does anyone know where you can get two pairs of corner connectors ( R & L) for a stake body. I have seen parts supplier with the stakes but not the connectors. Does anyone have 2 sets they would like to sell. Thanks Lowtide

Re: Follow up on lifting 28 cab
I have kind of enjoyed all the responces. When I installed the cab there wasn't much left to do. A couple of wires, gas line, install cab to frame bolts, all the floor board "D" nuts had been tapped and I drove around the block. The steering column is more than 2 bolts, starter and clutch pe...

Re: water height
Stuart, If your engine is is good condition installing a thermostat will solve the problem plus fuel economy impoves and help the life of the oil. Most Model A parts suppliers have them like Brattons.

Re: water height
Stuart, I had a similar situation, after rebuilding the water put it pushed water out the overflow. I looked in the top of the radiator and noticed the baffle just inside wasn't the best. What hppens is the new water pump has less clearance in the head and probably a better impellar so it moves a lo...

Re: Follow up on lifting 28 cab
Russ, The reason for the 12' was the truck was fully assembled. Gear shift, steering column, etc plus when I take it apart I still have 4 12 2x4s. 10" 2x4s might have worked. I didn't want to be 1" short. I drove it around the block yesterday, PERFECT. lowtide

Re: The 28 is coming together.
I too am interested in seeing more of your "tower" there. Looks like a very servicable item with minimum effort to construct. Was wondering how it's supported laterally, so's it doesn't lay over sideways. Gotta love them pics, eh folks? Russ, See more pictures under my new post, lowtide

Follow up on lifting 28 cab
Photo 1 shows the lifting frame. The legs were 2x4 12' long, the cross braces were rough saw pine boards 1x5 rough cut to length and doubled up. The top cross piece was 2-2x4's fastened together. Drive screws were used to secure parts.(made easy to dissassemble) The space between legs was 5', space ...
