Re: Door panel fasteners

Thanks Kim, do you use the ringed nails like in the photo above, or the wire clips that come with the panels. I am wondering whether to take the wire clips off and replace with the nails and sockets from Snyders as per original.

Re: Door panel fasteners

Hi Kim,

Do the plastic ones hold OK? Where did you get them from?

Thanks

Re: Door panel fasteners

Thanks Neil, not sure what the solution is. The wire clips are too loose if you just push them into the holes. The only thing I can think off is to turn some brass inserts to reduce the hole diameter so the clips are tighter when they go in but there will be some trial and error to get the correct s...

Door panel fasteners

Hi,
Would anyone know of a source for the female door panel fasteners that mount in the door like in the pic below. I need about 25 of them but haven't been able to locate anyone that sells them.

Re: WTB, Rear 88A platform bed crossmember

Thanks Neil, yes, if I have no luck I will just have to get the heavy hammers and heating torch out. The worst thing will be to try and take the sag out of it as the flanges are quite light and wont take a lot of load from a hydraulic jack. And I would have to straighten it before I weld it up as th...

WTB, Rear 88A platform bed crossmember

Hi, I am looking for the rear cross member for an 88A platform bed with the 4 stake pockets. I think the part number is AA-88097-B - see pictures below. Mine has about a 2" sag across it which has split the lower flange and it is pretty beat up. I have repaired all my other cross members with h...

Re: flat bed u-bolts

Hi Bud,
Would you have a spare wheel carrier frame for a 28/29 platform bed, the Y type that hangs under the frame at the rear. Mine is possibly an 88A or 185 A bed ( I think it may be a mixture!) but even if you have the hinges or a catch bolt that would be good.

Thanks

WTB Door garnish molding

Hi, I am looking for the garnish molding for a '29 82-A cab - the one that goes along the top of the door panel at the base of the window that has with the raised grab handle as in pic below. I need one for the drivers side door which is the reverse from the photo. 20190616_190949.jpg Thanks Jeff

Thanks Neil, didn't occur to me they were on the underside which is why I did not see them in any photos.

Many thanks, I will put them on!

Sun visor question

Hi all, I am puzzled by the purpose of the two strips that are supposed to be riveted to the frame of the sun visor. They do not seem to serve any purpose that I can see - do I need them?? I could understand them being useful if they went outside the cover to help hold in place but that does not see...

Re: Dismantling doors

I have been using an impact screwdriver - when you hit it with a hammer it causes the head to turn - theoretically. One problem is with the doors , they are relatively light so you cannot hit too hard. And on a few screws it has sheared the heads off. I have tried the heating and cooling , soaking i...
