Re: AA Website

All is well said and true - all of us might keep that in mind when annual dues go in, to include a little something extra for Neil's outstanding service and dedication to this great hobby.

Re: 6 volt vs 12 volt system

Also, an ammeter and ballast resistor for coil - PLUS a quick disconnect for the battery. Sometimes a high amp 12v battery will weld the contact strip in the starter switchbox, and it won't stop cranking. It might need a small diameter pulley on the alternator to increase the RPM. Original condenser...

Re: FRAME REPAIR

Very nice welding. I'm sure you checked the width of the original spring - the new cross member looks a bit narrow.

Really like that little Model T Snow Cat. I saw it in action on the "Lombard Steam Loghauler" site a few years ago.

Re: Wanted Model A or AA doodlebug

That photo #3 is a nice buggy built by Pete Marsiglio of Walton, NY and last owned (?) by Tommy Quin of Oneonta. An interesting aspect for some of you guys is the treatment on the back wheels. They're Dayton rims with AA wheel centers. It's a nice operating buggy, and I didn't know it was for sale. ...

Re: scrapping a 29 frame

you could use the rest of the frame from the crossmember back to the brake cross area to build an engine test/run-up stand or something like that.

Re: Larger tires

Txturbo: It was mentioned as a possible resource. Being in Texas, they just might have some 20" hoops & tires around, or know of a good source. Big buses use the 22" wheels now, unless they are pulled along by mules -

Re: Larger tires

turbo: If you just want to roll the chassis around in your shop or close by, you could make some plywood discs, and cut/drill the centers to match the AA wheels. It would work until you are able to find wheels and tires that are just right for you. The AA wheel centers can be rather easily removed b...

Re: Inside the Venturi

Thanks Brian: That's right, and I wasn't thinking that far ahead for a "good" rebuild. I have in the past jut cut and worked it around on the underside of the top half, but that was for a "doodlebug grade" operation. I guess Marty should go ahead and use that venturi puller tool ...

Re: Inside the Venturi

Marty: Just buff it good to smooth and clean, and not so much that the angle or dimension changes at the smaller inside diameter. You can feather it out at the very top and not change the dynamic of the venturi effect. The biggest thing to concentrate on is how clean and clear the passages are. If y...

Re: Parting Out sales

Hi Jared: It wasn't me selling, but just tossing out a thought in response to a post by Steve Plucker on the Ahooga Message Board. It's always good for folks to read carefully and be considerate of the sellers wishes. No problem that I know of from here (aa-fords.com), but the other site generated s...
