Engine Pans

The engine pans are not for splash. They are an A part numbers use on both the A and AA. They aid in the engine cooling. They are a pain to remove and install. So many were trashed when the engine was pulled. There are about three or four styles as per the Judging Standards.

Ford Dual High Transmission

The lower diagram on page 42 of the Schild book is the Ford sold dual high transmission. This was an option for trucks with the standard Model A three speed transmission (1928 through about 10/29). It is an under drive. The three positions of the foot lever are straight through, neutral, and low. Th...

The 28 and 29 AAs had the worm drive rear axle (except for an ocational rare bevel gear). Both of these axles use the same rear wheel hubs which are designed for either the steel spoke wheel (standard through 2/29) or the six spoke, concave disk wheel (standard through 12/29). These two wheel styles...

Coupling Shafts

The 28/29 AAs with the 3-speed came with a coupling shaft with u-joints and bearings on both ends. As an option, the coupling shaft could be replaced with a dual high. It was hooked up the same way as the coupling shaft was. The late 29 through 31 AAs came with a 4-speed. Until late 31 the coupling ...

I have an AA-7085-B Transmission Rear Bearing Retainer for the 4-speed. It allows hook-up to the '28/'29 dual high or '28/'29 Warford. It is $90.00 plus $7.00 shipping. :D

Hello Dick Kinney, I am getting an undeliverable notice from your e-mail address of kinney912@up.net. Below is the information I was trying to send to you. Your six spoke disk wheels are for the '29 AA's and the Model A style front end you mentioned would mean that you have a '28/'29 AA. To use your...

The five spoke disk wheels started production in 1930. I believe that you will need to use a 30/31 rear axle for the wheels to fit correctly. A worm drive 1929 rear axle will just not allow the wheels to bolt up good enough to be safe. The other axle you have may be the 1929 bevel gear type axle. It...

Either drum or tea cup

:!: I looked at the Judging Standards. It says that the drum style or tea cup tail light was used on commercial vehicles from February 1929 through March 1930. The commercial tail light body (either drum or tea cup) was steel (painted black). If you have a brass or stainless tail light body then it ...

Page 61 and 66 of the McMillan book shows the stake racks. The sides have three racks. Does the rear racks of your truck have the sliding (up/down) gate as shown for the stock racks? Ford sold grain sides for the platform in 1929 (these will also fit the 1930 trucks since the platform is the same bo...

The stock racks shown on page 77 of the McMillan book has only one rack per side (not two). The stakes are about 60" above the cargo floor. What is the height of your stakes from the cargo floor (or total length)? The 1928 through 2/31 stake rack stakes are 26-1/16" above the cargo floor (...
