Re: 29 bevel gear rear end
The rear end that looks like the car of 1928-1948, that is in 3 pieces is a domestic Ford factory product. The torque tube is also unique for this rear end.

Re: Trany accesory?
A look at the production line in early 1928 the body was dropped onto the frame with the brake handle in place and would have to be slipped through the small slot in the body sill. When they changed the braking system in front of the shift made dropping the cab easier. The "front of the shift&q...

Re: Headlight bar lengths
The 1928-June 1930 bar is flat between the two headlights. The 1930-31 style is arched from headlight to headlight. If you have a Jan-June 1930 truck use the early style. Some trucks of this period still had the 1929 style headlamps, but all used the early bar regardless of lamps.

Re: Muffler hanger
Take a look at the frame about 3 1/2 inches after the 2nd running board bracket. You should find two holes one above the other about 2 inches apart. The bracket lines up with these holes. As I recall the nuts are on the outside of the frame. Slip the bracket over the pipe first then bolt up. Best, Ed

The flat springs are the same for car and AA truck. The idler has a coil return spring illustrated in the latest club news (Hint:join the club). Installation is shown in the Service Bulletins. There are several coil springs; one is available from vendors. Best, Ed

Re: AA radiator splash apron
The car and truck sheet metal is the same; there are no unique AA aprons. The 28/29/early 30 AA had an apron attached to the vehicle by 4 oval head screws passing vertically through holes in the hood shelves into 4 threaded tabs on the outside of the apron. The 30/31 style is attached with with 4 lo...

See the 1932 Service Bulletins for this shaft. It was a good idea;, saves a lot of work to replace a clutch.

Re: Old family picture
I never liked runningboard tool boxes and/or runningboard step plates. When removed there is invariably a rust hole in the runningboard or no runningboard underneath.

Search for "hauling leaves" on the AAclubhouse for a couple of photos. I don't remember any problems with these aprons, but it was some time ago and my standards are very low.

Re: AA Dual Wheel Rear Fenders
Since Union City made buses for other makes maybe the rear fenders were a generic in house fender for whatever was ordered. Note I couldn't find an AA330 running board for the bus in the parts catalogue, and the fenders don't have a Ford style. Compare with the ones used on the BB330 bus which have ...
