Im 6'1" and 220 and and am on the upper level of fitting in an AA cab. Mine is a '31. I can drive it just fine for the little that I have driven it so far. I recently purchased my truck back from the previous owner who got it from my grandpa so I am still learning about the AA truck. When you a...

Anyone planning to go to the 2020 ATHS national convention?
My grandfather was a member of ATHS and this year the convention is just over an hour away from me being in Springfield IL. I would like to take the AA this year. Anyone a member of ATHS or plan to attend? I dont believe you need to be a member to show.

Rough week and update on the AA
This past week my grandfather who previously owned the AA passed away Friday. He was 88 and suffered from Alzheimer's for the past 9 years. My grandma asked if I could have the truck at his celebration of life this saturday. Of course even if I had to push the truck there. I had been trying to diagn...

Had to work a traffic detail after the fireworks but did get to go to another towns local parade. Saw 3-4 model A's but no AA's.

Re: Help. I think I killed my starter. Engine won't crank
So I took my starter to the local model A club and they took it to an electrician who does their work. He replaced a field in the starter. I brought the starter back and installed it. I immediately locked the starter up again. I tried to rock it free by putting it in 3rd gear and but I have had abso...

Re: Help. I think I killed my starter. Engine won't crank
Now that you replaced the front pulley and star nut were you able to turn it over without the starter installed??? I don't think you have a seized engine but you need to eliminate the minor stuff one at a time. If it doesn't turn in neutral with the starter out you have other problems. the engine s...

Re: Help. I think I killed my starter. Engine won't crank
Sound like the starter switch is allowing to ground out. Have you remove the switch for inspection? There is a card board insulator that prevents the switch copper contact from touching the switch housing. Should also be something to isolate the stater switch rod. After reconnecting the battery to ...

Re: Help. I think I killed my starter. Engine won't crank
I think you are going to want to get that bendix gear moving again. Try knocking it back with a hammer and screw driver by tapping it on the gear teeth. If its jammed on something it may stay meshed with the engine which it won't like at all. Once you got it moving freely, clean the helix well but ...

Re: Help. I think I killed my starter. Engine won't crank
You can try it with your battery charger directly. Polarity doesn't matter but usually the negative would go to the post on the battery and the positive to ground. To make sure that it isn't the switch that is causing you troubles remove it and touch the negative to the flat post that you will find...

Re: Help. I think I killed my starter. Engine won't crank
Thanks for the replies. A little update: I was able to use the fan belt and spin the engine by hand so the engine is not seized. The battery was replaced last month by the previous owner. The truck has not ran in the past two years per him. I was able to get it started but it would stall and die aft...
