Re: Hub puller woes

Another thought: Although I've never had this much trouble pulling a drum I don't think you can continue to apply pressure at this range without damaging something. How about buying a couple of cheap fire extinguishers and blasting the hub with icy cold (get it good and frosty), then apply the hot w...

Re: Hub puller woes

After you've applied the pressure just keep tapping on the hub, constant tapping (not hard) will eventually break it loose. Unlikely you will break it loose with presure alone.

Re: Hub puller woes

You might try loosening the axle nut and driving the truck around the block a few times. Sometimes the brakes will cut into the drum and this could be the problem. Make a "knocker" that threads onto the axle (make sure it bottoms onto the axle end), jack the opposite wheel off the ground a...

Re: Turlock Swap Meet

I've gone to this swap meet for many years but quit two or three years ago. Just not many old parts anymore and after ten o'clock or so just too many women with baby strollers, kids, tourists and crowds, makes it hard to get to a venders stall. Not worth getting up at 3 am, driving a couple hundred ...

Re: WANTED: Ford Model "AA" Truck

The seller is not as knowledgeable about these trucks as some of us but at least he's not trying to make a million dollars off his truck. It's a good buy at his asking price (unlike the nutjob with the $75000 service car).

Re: Ebay AA rear fender auctions

I said ePay will determine what the worth of these fenders are. I'd say, for me personally, I would give around $500 for the pair. Shipping would probably ad another $150 so that's about what I could justify. I'm not a rich man so maybe someone else would pay more but for that price you could buy a ...

Re: Ebay AA rear fender auctions

A "reasonable price" will be what these sell for. ePay is a very good yardstick for determining the actual value of many items, but not always. If an item sells for more than one would expect it is almost always due to the ignorance of the buyer. Look at the rating of any buyer who buys an...

Re: Ebay AA rear fender auctions

Was that eight hundred EACH or eight million? I have a couple good fenders and several that have been cut off but could be cut and welded to make good pairs: maybe I should just retire and live off my old tin. For $1600 a pair you could take a couple coupe fenders, cut and fit and no one would know ...

Re: 1 1/2 Weight Tag

These are reproduction tags often sold on ePay. Many times the sellers will bury them in the ground for a while to make them look old and sell them to unsuspecting buyers for high prices. Nothing special and not conected to any registration purpose.

You have to pull the rear-end/torque tube back (disconnected form the rear springs) in order to slip the u-joint into the drive shaft splines.

Re: 1931 AA Stakebed on ebay, no reserve

If the seller wanted to sell this truck he would start with a low bid and have no reserve, otherwise it's just fishing. We don't always make money or even break even on these old cars. Nice truck and it seems like it's worth the price but REALITY tells us it is not. Epay is the best gauge on what th...
