Help. I think I killed my starter. Engine won't crank

I'm hoping it is just the starter and nothing more. While waiting for a carb rebuild kit to come I sprayed carb cleaner in the carb to see if that would help with my starting issue. I have been able to start it but it will not stay running for more than a few seconds, at the most 30 seconds. Yesterd...

Re: Finally acquired my '31 AA!

Well yesterday I was able to go get my truck. The weather overall was good. Hit a thunderstorm on the way home. My f150 pulled the AA like a champ and was my first time hauling anything. We we're unable to get the truck to run. I plan to clean the points, install new plugs and a coil today before wo...

Re: Finally acquired my '31 AA!

Well I was hoping to get the truck today but it didn't happen. I am going to try and get it next Tuesday. Hopefully it pans out. On the plus side, I was flipping through the AA supplement guide (first chance to really dig through it since I got it) and to my surprise my (grandpa's) truck is on page ...

Re: Finally acquired my '31 AA!

Congrats on the purchase. I'm glad you was able to buy it back. I'm also 33 and got my first AA last year. You said the truck ran a year ago. I'm sure it will run again with a little tinkering. It is a beautiful truck. Keep us posted on the progress. I'm sure any questions can be answered here or o...

Re: lifting cab off of frame

I have searched and may have missed it. But is there a step by step anywhere, here or someplace else, that shows how to lift the cab off of the frame to retrieve the id number? How high is needed to be able to view the number? This is for my 31. Thank you. On my '28 the number is just in front of t...

Re: Windows and window tint

Ok thanks. I'll look for clear glass. I wasnt sure. There is a glass company here in town. Has anyone had a window made or is it better to get new? I still dont have the truck yet to get dimensions. If bought new does anyone have any recommendations on ones they have bought and are happy with?

Windows and window tint

I am going to replace the side windows in my 31 AA as the passenger side is cracked and I don't believe it is safety glass. Researching windows they seem to be tinted green or gray, or bronze. Anyone replaced their windows? Are the colors that pronounced? What color did you go with and are you happy...

Re: Finally acquired my '31 AA!

That may be a grain box on the back of your truck. The motor is from a car as AA's started with an AA stamped on the engine. Your serial number is stamped on the frame rail under the drivers side cowl. Also I am going to curious how Illinois accepts your title transfer. They voided out a bunch of p...

Finally acquired my '31 AA!

Hi,  I have been lurking for a few weeks trying to learn as much as I can. I recently purchased my grandfather's '31 AA. He purchased it very early 80's and he sold it in '11 when alzheimer's started to set in. Well yesterday I was able to purchase it back. Growing up, I'm 33, we would take it to Wa...
