Re: Different Diff?

Ther gear splitter is basicly an overdrive when you hit the highway. But you can also drive it in direct drive when around town. They make them for "A's", "AA"s", And "V-8's". They also make a syncronized three speed transmission for A's and early AA's. Mitchell Ma...

Re: Different Diff?

Installing a Mitchell Gear Splitter is the easiest answer. Gives you overdrive and is a bolt in with no modification to the truck.

They aren't getting any easier to find and guys that do seem destroy them for their own reasons. You can restore an old truck a mil...

Chris, where did you get all of your AA experience? You have been right on everything I've seen so far.[/quote]

I sure don't have all the answers. I got my first "A" in 1961 when I was 16. There hasn't been one single day of my life that I haven't owned one since.

For others a stock AA may be perfectly suitable for modern California freeways, but I don't have the driving skills necessary to blend in with 80 MPH traffic and stop safely behind an ABS-equipped Porsche. I sure do admire those who can!
