I made a tool out of an old pair of vice grips. Drilled a hole in the jaws (closed)and filed it just smaller than fitting. Have removed MANY fittings in 3 model A"s. Also made a offset crimper to make my own patch panels,out of vise grips. It worked for me :) Got to be inventive when restoring ...

answer to my own question, I cut a piece of fence pipe and pressed it into the spring eye. I may have to shim or file a bit to fit in the bushing. mac

I have a Aug 1929 AA,with beval gear rear end. Question is ,2 of my rear springs
EYES (where shachkel goes) are worn thru the bushing AND the STEEL INSERT. Have not been able to find replacements,anyone know of a fix?
