Re: 1929 Express info

Yes, the small wheel wells identifies it as an 89-A express! A picture of the outside above the rear fender would identify an early '28 or later 89-A express. The TT express has no wheel wells and were not designed to rest on the tapered AA frame. The skid strips must be replacements. The originals ...

Re: 1929 Express info

Hello Roy, Based on the 1929, six vent hole wheels, your truck is a 1929. The 1928 (through Jan. 1929) had steel spoke wheels. The '30/'31 wheels are five vent holes. The 1929 wheels will not fit properly onto a '30/'31. The '28/'29's have a worm drive rear axle. The 82-A closed cab was used through...

Re: New guy needs direction and advice!

Hello Dennis, The 1930 and early 1931 wheels do not have the reinforcement stamped into the face of the hub (around the lug bolt holes). The Model A Judging Standards has a good description of the wheel changes for ‘30/’31. A description of the wheel flange (lock ring) is also provided. The 1932 Exp...

Re: Install wheel ?

Yes, the safest way to get the tires mounted is to get someone else to do the job. If it is being done at home, then I like the idea of a remote method of inflating the tire. I will have to get some parts which will allow this to be done. I would recommend inflating the tire in stages. I have found ...

Re: Install wheel ?

You might try using some duck tape on the wheel where the flange if being installed. And protect the cadmium plated flange as well. The grove in the wheel, for accepting the flange, must be clear of all rust build up as well as the edge of the flange which fits into the grove. Also, the wheel rim su...

Here is a picture of the original engine number stamping on the frame. Post a picture of what you have for rear springs and maybe someone can help.

Re: AA MEETING IN DALLAS??

I was contacted by Ron Kelley regarding AA mirror brackets. And, Ron said that he was responsible for the an AA truck meeting at the Dallas meet. This was June 3rd and was the first that I had heard about the meeting. Anyway, it sounds like there is a meeting which was set up by someone - and thanks...

Re: AA Disc Wheels to AA Wire Wheels

I have never seen any Ford documentation stating that obsoleted part were used up on the commercial A's and AA's. However, there is lots of information regarding the change over from the '28/'30 82-A closed cab to the '30/'31 82-B closed cab.

I don't have any information regarding non USA units.

Re: Bolts

I can not think of any square bolts/nuts with regards to the rear axle and springs. It could be that they are replacements as a result of service over the years. I also don't know of any parts diagrams. The Ford Parts Price Lists is a good source for pictures of parts and lists of the standard parts...

Re: eBay AA

I see that the truck cab has the high rear window. I can not tell if there is a Ford script above the rear window but I can't see one. So, this truck would most likely be in the April to June 1928 range.

If you have some high resolution pictures of the truck, please send them to me via e-mail.

Re: Small update with some pics.

1928 and 1929 AA Front End Part Identification For 1928 and 1929, the AA front end was largely an assembly of A parts. Those parts which were AA specific are listed below. AA Front End Parts (prior to February 15th 1929) (2) AA-1105 – Front hub and brake drum assembly (all right hand threaded wheel ...

Re: seat bottom upholstery

The extensions on the bottom of the spring fit on the outside edge of the tabs in the heal kick. This keeps the seat from moving side to side or forward.
