Re: Maiden voyage

What size tires are you running. I really like how yours look in the front. That is about perfect. They fit the line of the arc of the fender perfectly.

Re: Brake Lining Tool

I always thought that you needed to re-arch the shoes to spec before you attached the liners. There is a special tool for the re-arching as well.

Re: gas tank rust

Not sure I would worry to much abbout getting it lined if it doesn't leak now. Henry didn't. Geting it boiled out at a radiator shop is the easiest way to get them clean. After the boil out inspect the area around the steering column bracket and the fuel shut off as these were stress areas that woul...

Re: after market water pump

I believe that is an early 28 or what some call an AR water pump. That is what I have been told about these. I own one also.

Re: Wanted

The bad news is that they are not being repoped and the further bad news is that there are a bunch of us looking for them. I saw a pretty nice set of 4 go on ebay for over $500.00.

They are really hard to come by.

All I know is that that the early firewalls & cowl panels are different. If you look at some recent threads you will see a discussion about it.

I am pretty sure it is the black on stainless one. Maybe someone else can confirm.

Re: Wanted: 29 29 cowl section

Fast isn't the problem. Although it did take a long time to get it. I have a part that is made incorrectly and can't be used. After many, many E mails and phone calls that were never returned I realized I wasn't a customer to him. I was a victim. Screw Howell's and the horse he rode in on. What par...

Re: 28 29 diffrences

A sheet metal difference I just realized is that on the early 28's the cowl panel ends pretty much flush with the firewall & on 29's they go past the firewall by about an inch. Never noticed this until I started piecing my 28 cab together and had some 29 cowls laying around. The cowl panel that ...

Re: Wanted: 29 29 cowl section

Try Howells sheet metal in Texas He makes the stuff , he is also on ebay , good luck BEWARE OF HOWELL'S!! Inferior parts. No customer service. I bought some of his poorly made crap and I can't get him to answer an E mail or return a phone call. Last couple orders I sent to Howell's have been a real...

Re: Has anyone seen these features? Any advice for a new AA owne

Hard to tell what box you have there. I can't see the inner wheel wells like Neil can so more pics of it would be appreciated. The rear fenders are home built and should be replaced for authenticity. Lefts seem to be a dime a dozen but a right is near impossible to find. Your front head lights are 3...

Chassis Black

Getting close to thinking about buying paint for the chassis of my 28 1 ton. I am really partial to single stage enamels and want to know what you guys are using. I am talking about spraying as I have all the equipment for this. Also what kind of primer are you guys using. Etching or filling. Can I ...

Re: question on dents and tires

Thank you for the pictures. You certainly do have one that needs alot of work to smooth those dents out. It can be done, but it will take time, alot of time. Keep in mind that hammer & dolly metal is just moving molecules around. You need to know where to strike to move the metal around and get ...
