Re: AA with banjo style rear axle

It is an Early 1930. They all have Banjo rear ends. I think you are confusing bevel gear with banjo, two different rear axles. I am not confused at all. As Neil said the Banjo style appeared in January 1930. The new 1930 cab didn't appear til June 1930. Sorry Chris, you are confused. Please review ...

Very nice and very fair price. I think a lot of folks are tight on money now a days. They need to live like the AA folks of their time. Hope you are well. Kevin
Thanks Kevin, I figure it will take the right AA'er to see this ad. It could take a long time to sell.

Re: AA with banjo style rear axle

It is an Early 1930. They all have Banjo rear ends. Actually, 1/30 is when a new bevel gear type rear axle started (see 2nd image). The rear axle for 1928—1929 which was also a bevel gear type and sometimes referenced as a banjo (see 1st image) was only used for a short time period. I think it was ...

Re: AA Coupling Shaft Thrust Spring Replacement Available

Am I correct that the housing rear support for the short shaft is located on the front of the cross member for stock configuration. And on the replacement it slips through the cross member from the back. https://aafords.com/aa-chassis/aa-4802-coupling-shaft/coupling-shaft-4-speed-aa/#i https://aafo...

Re: Spare Tire Carrier on 88-A Bed Trouble

Dave, The sill heights and wheel stop lengths are correct after looking at my information. So, at this point, I don't have a clue. As Bud indicated, the wheel off-set might be the problem. It looks like you need to be able to raise the carrier strap about 1". The swivel bolt is 4" (bottom ...

Re: Hub cap installation

It is interesting that the caps could not be installed without the aid of your installation devices. I wonder how removing the caps will work given there is so much pressure from the installation.

Re: Spare Tire Carrier on 88-A Bed Trouble

What is the height of the platform sills? What is the height of the wheel stops? A picture of the wheel carrier without the tire would be of interest.

Re: Hub cap installation

Do not bend the tabs on that 28 AA hubcap. The tabs will just break off. That's why many that are for sale are missing tabs. The hubcaps should fit snug onto the wheel. It may require that the hubcap tabs need to be slightly moved to ensure a good fit. I have used a pair of pliers to fit hubcaps. Ob...

Your last picture shows the wheel is pushing against the wheel stop as it should. You don't say or explain what is not fitting?
