Greg, My truck used to do the same thing with the shimmy. check the king pins for play in the spindle unit. The king pin is steel and the bushings are brass which is a very soft metal. I used to keep mine around 30-35. If you get up much past that your are pushing the engine. It is only like a 2800 rpm motor. At the 35 mph you are around 2100 rpm. Neil had a chart that calculated the speeds out.

Your best bet is to see if you have an Army center close to you and see if they have any boxes of them laying around leftover from the old ducce and a halves........ Perfect fit....lol

Yes she did go to a good home.... I have gotten a couple of text updates the new owner loves her. Says she drives great and the engine with the old gas runs like a champ. He has been driving it all over..... I am glad that she will bring someone else as much joy as she brought to our family...... Dave

The reason why you would get the two different reading is so that when you go to put it on the trailer you can figure out what the center of gravity is for the truck. I can not find the drawing that I had but I was able to figure out that the center of the trailer had to be pretty close to like 113 ...

JW, I had the same idea a while back and took mine to the grain mill......... lol Front axle wt was 1968 lbs Rear axle was 2960 lbs I had a full tank of gas and nothing in the back other than the factory racks.
