Hmm! No phone number and no address. Sounds like a scam to me. I know a club member in England. If you want I could e-mail him to see if he can check it out. But, without a phone number, he would be limited to sending the seller an e-mail. Is the price (after shipping) going to be worth the cost? So...

The rear axle should be filled with oil up to the filler plug hole. And, if you add too much, let it run out before replacing the plug.

I have never seen a specification on the quality of oil used.

The service brake cross shaft bushings are usually worn out. My thought is that if they are snug but allow the brake pedal to return without a problem, they should be okay.

It may be that Ford Canada did not offer the AA-8200-B Stainless Steel shell. And, I see that I should have had AA-8200-A for the painted shell in my prior post.

For US assembled AA, if Ford assembled some '30/'31 trucks with chrome radiator shells, then there would be a separate part number for that shell. Just like the chrome and painted '28 through '31 A shells. Ford did have a stainless steel AA shell which has a separate part number (AA-8200-B 1931). An...

All 1930 and 1931 AA's have two piece aprons which are separate from the running boards. The 1930 fender splash apron is spot welded to the fender (same fender-apron/fender as the A). The 1931 fender splash apron is bolted to the fender. This fender splash apron is an AA part. The '30/'31 long runni...

Richard, Yes, the door hinges must be straighten before any alignmnet! The hinge post must be shimmed when the rear of the door is low. The front body bolt would not be shimmed. So, when tightened, the hinge pillar tilts forward moving the rear of the door up. So, the hinge pillar shim would need to...

Hello Richard, If a door belt rail is too low (the usual situation), then shims under the hinge pillar will cause the back of the door to rise. If the door belt rail is too high, then shims under the rear, body bolt causes the rear of the cab to rise. This assumes that the door hinges are straight! ...

Richard,
The '30/'31 AA's have a heaver brake pedal which requires slightly larger slots in the #1 board for clearance. Also, there is a grove in the bottom side of the #1 board which insures that the brake pedal does not hit the board.

If you want, I will get you a picture of this feature.

Hello Richard,
Below is a picture of a drawing showing the 4-speed #2 floor board. The only difference in the #2 floor board for the 82-A and 82-B is the side-front bolt down holes as shown.

I am sending you this drawing via e-mail so you can actually see the measurements.

Richard, If possible, I would appreciate some high resolution pictures of your early '30 truck and some detailed pictures of the hoist. Does the hoist have any identification as to the manufacturer? You will not be able to post high resolution pictures. So, please e-mail them to me. The first pictur...
