Re: Wanted '28 Passenger door latch for open cab
Call Berts and talk to Steve. I had heard a lot of bad about the repros also. There must be more than one source for them. Steve said the ones they had were good and they seem ok to me. Try Berts. The replacement ones they have seem ok to me and they might also have an original if that is what you n...

Re: Early 1930 with round speedometer
Did the 76B & 82B cabs come out early enough for any of them to have the early tank with oval speedo?

Re: VIN Problems
I think Feb of 29 would have been the last 6 digit frame number. After that it would have had 7.

Re: VIN Problems
4130 would not be the original number stamped on the frame of a '30 so raising the cab would likely not help you out any. The original engine and frame numbers matched but the engine number was considered the title number. Back in the day if the engine was replaced the title was supposed to be chang...

Looks like a 28-31 Model A pickup bed.
They didn't change until late 31 when the wide bed came out.

Re: Wanted: Rear crossmember for 1929 131 1/2" Frame
Good luck on the straightening. It shouldn't be to hard with time and patience. I looked at mine this morning and I don't think it is any better than the one you have. [quote="Jared275"]REM, Thank you for the offer, I am located in CT, but I will try what Neil has advised first. Hopefully ...

Re: Wanted: Rear crossmember for 1929 131 1/2" Frame
I have the back few feet of a 29 frame.
The rear crossmember should be with it.
I'll look tomorrow and see what shape it is in.
Where are you located. I'm in N.W. Mo.

Re: gas tank rust
The gas fills all sections of the tank and it holds about 10 gal.
The hole the gas flows out of is in the right end section of the tank.
Correction.
I believe the outlet is in the center section as I think I remember looking in the gas cap and seeing the outlet.

Re: gas tank rust
It doesn't look like the baffles come to the top of the tank. If turned upside down it should be easy to work the gravel to the center section and get it out.

After you remove the screws it should slide up and then come off.
Work with it easy. They are usually stuck somewhat with rust and crud.

Here is a copy of a brochure I got with my truck. It has the verticle two speed version on it. I am sure their were many other makes available.
