Re: 1930 rear hubs
I tried two more heating cycles today and the hub did not come loose. I upgraded my gas and was able to get entire end of hub Red Hot! Still would not come loose. Sunday I am going to try one more time before cutting the hub off. My friend said I should heat everything red hot and then pour cold wa...

For my project I am returning 1930 AA157 to original. Long story but I don't have original shaft. Had to buy coupling shaft for short wheel base and plan to lengthen. I used your request for the pic from the judging standards to finally trudge through getting my scanner working again. Here is page e20 from the 94 version of the standards.

Re: Valve noise - I think?
I drove the truck 20 miles yesterday and believe it was spark knock. Advancing the timing corrected most of the noise. Before we left we added one quart of oil and drove around 12 miles to ball game with minor oil leakage. On the way home I decided to open it up and drove home at 45 mph. When I pul...

Re: Hub puller woes
The puller that broke was a snap-on puller made in USA by KD tools. One leg snapped at the narrow neck while I was hitting on the the dog bone with a 2 lb sledge. My drum is really stuck - I welded two new studs on today to hold the rim puller at all five studs. Re-applied the 20 tons of force from...

Charlie, I think the Budds you could use are available, but pricey. Try Burts in Colorado.

Hey Guys, Got my engine together and have been running it lightly for a short time now. As I run through the gears, I am getting a knocking sound. It begins knocking in first gear just as I'm about to shift to second, then again as 2nd is topping out and about to go to third, it knocks, then the sa...
