Re: spare tire mount

These are shots of how mine was mounted: http://i1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa437/FarrellinVancouver/My%20AA%20Truck/AAFordTwo024-1.jpg http://i1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa437/FarrellinVancouver/My%20AA%20Truck/AAFordTwo025-1.jpg http://i1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa437/FarrellinVancouver/My%20A...

Genrator re-build question

Getting down to final assembly of my generator and thought I'd pose a question. On the brush end plate, the oil wick and oil cup are installed, however I have observed the bushing has no holes for the oil to enter or the wick to store lubricant. Is there a pathway in the bushing housing for the lube...

Wow nice truck! I am impressed and jealous.
Mine is so far away from where you are.
Great Job.

Re: Mystery Rear Shackle

I haven't measured the long ones on my second frame but yours do look unusually long. This is the short one (bad angle): http://i1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa437/FarrellinVancouver/P7150054.jpg And this is the longer type: http://i1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa437/FarrellinVancouver/AAFordTwo036.jpg

Re: Drum remover

Yep, A lot of us have tried lighter, less stout tools made along the same lines as yours with no luck. That's a solid looking piece of equipment. Weird how time has created a situation that requires that massive of a tool to remove a wheel. What is that red container with BUDWEISER stenciled on it ...

Drum remover

After reading "tough drum blues" and Dyoung's posts, I ran up against the drums on my two running gears. Needless to say, the same problems came up. After looking at everyone's submitted devices I came up with my own. So far this crude appliance has saved a lot of blue air and bleeding knu...

Re: Express bed

Thanks Neil, I see no rust out on the bottom pans nor on the sub-rails, but some stress cracking. There are absolutely no drain holes in any of the pockets. What to you believe was the purpose of the tabs riveted to the gate? http://i1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa437/FarrellinVancouver/AAFordTwo059....

Re: Express bed

Finally got around to taking some better pix of the bed that came with the second running gear. The bed was modified to be used as a dumping trailer rather crudely, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. This is in very good shape and I am still undecided to adapt it for the truck or find a flat bed: h...

AA Lug wrench

This two piece iron came with the last running gear we bought. I have never seen the like so I thought I would share. The 1 1/2" end has an internal female square for holding the Dual studs. Not matched but they work well together: http://i1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa437/FarrellinVancouver/AA...

Re: Express bed

Thanks Neil, what I believe we picked up is a TT express and I don't think its going to work for us as the sub-rails are to close together to line up with the frame. I will post pictures as soon as I can so you and the boys can approximate the year of it and perhap I can trade it for a flat bed.

Re: Head Bolts and Nuts

There was no difference in the head nuts on A or AAs. But be careful of what you buy at the hardware store. We have had nuts that claimed to be grade 8 that jack the threads out at only 40lb.s. Your best bet is from the known part houses. No washers are required, but follow the torque sequence caref...
