Re: Fluid capacities?

The 4 speed transmission holds 6 pints; with a power take off 8 pints. This is a quote from page 94 of the 1933 March-April-May Ford Service Bulletins.

Re: Gear shift lever?

This knob recat as a BB part in the V8 era was also used on some of the 8N Ford tractors circa 1950 and is available from Steiner tractor at a lower price. I haven't viewed the Steiner example for authenticity.

Re: Tires

On trucks with dual rear wheels all 6 plus the spare should be 6:00 x 20. On trucks with single wheels the front should be 6:00 x 20 and 6:50 x 20 on the rear. The spare would be another 6:50. The idea is that with a flat on the rear with a loaded truck would need a 6:50; a flat on the front could g...

You don't have to give your address; you should put the state you live in your profile. USA is a big country. Next JOIN the AA Ford Club which is linked to this forum. It's 9 bucks, a great investment. Join a Model A Club in your area and meet some Model A people. They may not be into AAs, but can g...

Re: AAC Hub Caps

The Ford Motor Co takes a dim view of people using the Ford name on items for sale. To use the "Ford name" permission must had from the company and a fee paid. Those great Ford shop coats are no longer available as the manufacturer could not handle this fee. I recommend checking with the c...

Re: 1929 AA tanker

Ford determined that the truck with the flat bed and racks could handle 1 1/2 ton load. Presumably a tank would replace the flat bed so a comparison of the two body weights might be considered. Don't wish to flog a dead horse here. Best, Ed

Re: 1929 AA tanker

The AA truck is a 1 1/2 ton truck; that's 3000 pounds load. A gallon of fuel oil weights 8.2 pounds. Divide it into 3000 gives you roughly 366.

Re: WTB rear spring top bushing holder

When putting this back together don't forget this has to rotate. I've seen examples so tight no movement can occur. No wonder the ride is hard. I've heard arguments that this isn't suppose to rotate; my answer is why the grease fitting. One should be able to rotate the outside flat washer by hand.
