Yes, the corrosion was really uneven from almost nothing to about 8" up so I would have had to cut some still good steel away to get a straight line. There is sealer between the two pieces and the rivets pulled it in really tight so I don't think it will leak - hopefully!

Re: Truck progress photos
Gradually getting bits of cab repaired ready for assembly. Probably like the majority of trucks, mine had a lot of corrosion around the seat and lower cab panels. The seat base had totally disintegrated and there was a lot of rust through on the subrails. Lower sections of the rear of the cab and co...

Re: Truck progress photos
Will do, only just working on the subrails at the moment and not entirely sure how all the bits fit together so maybe I can save you from making all my mistakes!

Re: Truck progress photos
Well, the temperatures have cooled down a bit into the balmy nineties so I tackled the relocation of the rear support bracket for the Warford and shifted it so the flange is on the rear of the cross member as per posts above. Quite a mission and it has taken two full weekends but glad I did it as ev...

Re: Truck progress photos
Not my idea on the transmission caps, I saw it somewhere else that I can't remember, but it seemed a good idea. My shift shafts were OK but could definitely leak oil, so I counter bored the ends of the holes to fit a short length of copper pipe with an end cap over it. the pipe is just a good force ...

Re: Truck progress photos
Kevin, if you look back on this thread, there is a pic of the toothed connector that bolts to the end of the warford (would have been part of the original Warford . The O ring is fitted in this pic so you can see where it is. I would think that after it is all fitted together, you could push the rop...

Re: Truck progress photos
I guess I was lucky that mine fitted in OK. All the pictures I had seen showed these on the front of the crossmember - didn't occur to me it could even fit from the rear!. Yes, the O ring is inside the AA4808 coupling between that and the new end piece I machined for the warford housing.

Re: Truck progress photos
Hey Kevin, do you mean the support bracket at the rear of the warford? It bolts to the front of the cross member with the same bolts that hold the clamshell in place , then the gear shaped piece slides into it from the front. Not sure if that was what you were referring to? Yes, I think the rope sea...

PTO for sale
This power take off has the same bolt pattern as the 4 speed transmission and Warford cover plates. I was going to use it but opted for a different make that fitted better. I am not sure who the maker of this is but it has good bearings and gear teeth, and I fitted new seals, The lever can be revers...

Re: Truck progress photos
Hi all, I was shocked to see that it was February when I last posted some photos of my work truck. Time has moved on and the engine and transmissions are now installed, PTO driven winch is finished on the front and this weekend, I managed to get the front fenders and running boards installed so it s...

Re: Rear fenders
Thought it would reduce the water and mud flinging off the wheels. Most of my use will be on gravel roads.

Re: Rear fenders
Thanks Neil, thought that would be the case. Yes my cab and frame are 29 but rear end is 30/31 along with a mix of other parts parts. The bed will just be a platform type so I can probably adapt anything to fit. Sorry, I am probably offending all the purists out there!
