Has anyone got a survivor floor plate for the 30-31 4 speed?
I need dimensions and/or a picture as none of my parts trucks came with one, and I've just finished my floor boards so it would be nice to finish this area off.
Also wondering what everyone is using for a floor mat for the AA trucks.

That looks a H-ll of a lot better! Nice work.......now do it again (yuk  ) This has to be one of the most tedious jobs on the A and AA. After doing all the leaves on my AA's suspension I didn't want to see another for a long time. Then when you see all your hard work looking as good as you have...

Re: No Brake Lights
"I put a new brake switch on " The Re-pop switches are notorious for being faulty. I always bench test them before sticking them in the wiring harness. A battery and a test light will help, and you'll see when the switch makes contact and if it breaks when needs to. If the reason you switc...

Is this a pix of the bottom of the cross member?Imnangell wrote:My first impression of taking off this bit was how are my hands going to fit in there.
If so, the radiator mounting springs are on the wrong side and upside down.
No?

How about posting some pix of the two speeds. The knowledgable will comment, and those like me may learn something along with you.
All I know about TT parts on the AA is the difference in the sill locations as the TT are parrelel and AA are tapered frame rails.

Re: Mud Flaps?
That would work, but might tend to "sail" at speed.
Been looking at ready made Mud flap stabilizers and brackets.
Looks like truckers get skinned as bad as harley riders, for accessories. Ouch!

Thanks Stakebed, Great ideas!
All kinds of way to do this, I guess it's up to the imagination for now.
I like the idea of incorporating the reflector strips. Thats a good safety angle I had not thought about.

Mud Flaps?
Would any of you gents happen to sport mud flaps on your flat bed/ump truck? And if so would you care to share how you mounted them? We get a lot of liquid sunshine up here on the "Wet" coast, and I have a concern that those duallies might cause problems for those behind me. Of course they...

Not that I've seen, I believe there is enough clearence in the shift lever to provide pressure relief.

Re: Spring pack dissassembled (lots of pics)
Of the three frames I had to choose from, all had pivots pretty worn down from the lack of grease/ over loading. I just flipped the frame upside down and migged in the worn areas to add some "meat". Then with the grinder and file, I worked until the bushing fit with a very firm push. Check...

Truly is a nice repop piece. I made my own up after a while and they seem to work fine.
