Bent front axle?
The axle on my Dad's '29 AA must have seemed like a good tow point sometime in the past. Long story short, it's bent. We are trying to decide wether to replace it or have it straightened. I've got an A axle. Are the A and the AA front axle the same? Thanks. Luke

Re: what are the different types of pickup beds
The narrow ('28-mid '31) bed is 40" wide at the box and 46" wide at the rails on top. Luke

Re: Barn Find AA in IL: Pics!
Me and Dad were like little kids cranking the bed up and down. Waiting on a box of parts from Snyders today. Hopefully we can get it started in the next few days and get her home. Luke

Re: Barn Find AA in IL: Pics!
Yeah Art it's a June '29, The rear is the only thing '30-'31 so far. That's what I meant about mix-n-match. We found out today that it went down a ravine and possibly rolled earlier in the last century. According to rumor the owner had just sold a load of hogs and stopped in at a local watering hole...

Barn Find AA in IL: Pics!
Finally got to show Dad his "new" truck today, so I took along the camera so I could show you guys too. She's a bit mix-n-match. We're still not sure what all is there, but it has an accessory dump and dual-high. The rearend appears to be '30-'31 and it has 5 hole wheels on the back and 6 ...

Re: what are the different types of pickup beds
The widebed on the '31 A is wider than the earlier A beds, it doesn't require the fender to bed spacer, which would make it about 2 inches wider. I think they were both 57" long stock. If no one else beats me to it I'll try to get a width measurement on an '28-Mid '31 for you tomorrow. Luke

Re: Noob question,
Thanks Neil. While I'm still confused about how that rear came to be in it, I am glad to hear that we may be going faster than 25mph! 46 would be great, but I'm not holding my breath.

Are all fenders created equal?
I'm looking for a set of rear fenders for my Dads Jun '29 Stake. I have been offered a set of '29 express fenders. My question is, are AA rear fenders all the same? Thanks. Luke

Re: 30 Model AA Front Leaf Spring Question???
Cowboy, I think you are ok with the 1" difference. To mount these safely with front axle attached to center at tranmission. Jack the frame high enough to attach the spring with the 2 U bolts at center of front cross member. Next raise axle high enough to put 1 side of the spring shackle to the...

Re: New guy in IL
Just found out that Dad's AA was produced in June of '29. It has a flatbed with dump. I will be helping him restore the truck. Thanks again. Luke
