Re: Roll Out The Barrel...

Very nice photos - Thank you for sharing. At first, I thought the back might be a section of old silo. That should be a great project, and very unique. Best of luck with the project.

Re: question

The "discs" are the same except that (at the factory,) the disc used in the AA was 1/2 larger diameter. The springs in the pressure plate were somewhat stronger, but those are the differences. The AA clutch housings were not as deep, and the pedal shaft was on the 4 speed trans. The throwo...

Re: aa QUESTION

All should be OK. You don"t say what year, or what trans the buggy has - Differences are that the 4 speed trans clutch disc was a little larger diameter, and the truck pressure plate had stronger springs - but all should interchange, and work nicely in the buggy.

Captain Marty: That's a good idea from Fred. That's how we were able to sell our '27 LaFrance pumper a few years ago (not on facebook, but something like it).

Re: Post your July 4th "Double-A"

I think I like this truck the best. Great photo, and thanks for sharing. Looks like the parade organizers had the good sense to put the horses at the end of the parade - not so here in New Yawk. They put the horses up front, and make the high school bands march through the droppings...

Re: Doodlebug Transmission linkage

You might be able to make at least part of an adapter using the center from a worn out clutch disc. There are no rules.

Mistloop: If you want to see some lifted A/AA, just google search: Model A Swamp Buggy The guy with the green '30 posted on here for awhile (I think). It's worth the search to see all those contraptions. They look like more fun than doodlebugs... Good luck P.S. - Guy's name is Roy Booth. Posted as: ...

Thank you Mike fro the re-set

Hello Mr. G: Thank you so much for getting me back on the board. I had been hacked by yahoo and their nasty relatives in the dark continent. The forum is great, and I'm very happy. Very best regards, Frank

Shelby: Sometimes the very best repair for a computer, is to place it in the driveway and just keep running over it until you get even. They are full of hateful little devil spirits, and it's great to hear them squeal and crunch as the duals squash them like they so richly deserve. Good luck.

Re: wheels

Hey Charlie: What's unfortunate about a doodlebug ? They're the greatest expression of personal freedom in this whole hobby. Wheels. I don't know of any that will just 'bolt' on - and I've tried hard to find out... A method used by many is to torch out the centers of the AA wheel, or chisel off the ...

It's best to hone the bushings rather than reaming - or you'll be doing the same job over again soon.
