Re: wanted worm gear 31 teeth
back side of housing on the drivers side has a stamp on it. "A" or "B". About 8" from center line of axel, on the cone shape part, just before the rivets. "A" is low speed as on my truck. I had a hard time fining it but it was there, Faint, but there. A = 29 teeth....

Re: Drive shaft removal
Can you make a 'slide' hammer? Also lots of penetrant, heat and cool several cycles, Hit all around it with a heavy block on the back side. Be careful not to damage the worm etc. May the force be with you.

Re: worm drive rear end cleaning
Sounds good. I set an electric heater under mine to warm it up first. Quieter and saved some time. Fill it right up with kerosene , run it and dump. Do this several times and then fill with the correct stuff. ( and yes that stuff is thick and barely runs by itself).

Re: side window glass
Mine is reg. Laminated safety glass. It should not break. You need to find out why. What hit it, pushed on it so hard to break it. Look for a sharp spot at the start of the crack. Is there a good guide where to glass slide? Something broke it that shouldn't be.. Good hunting..

Also. On that Pix of the rear end. Just to the left of center of the pig. right where that light spot in the pix is should be the letter stamp that indicates rear ratio. About 8" off center.

Re: New member, new to the AA's
I think you have a 29, Disk wheels. Looks like wide rear breaks in back, They would have separate E-brake bands. The Serial # on the frame should be on the top of the frame, on the drivers side, just in front of the body mount. On my 28 it can be seen with the cab in place. I found mine with a fine ...

Yup: Shouldn't be that hot, or hot at all. In Hi it is running straight through with no gears engaged. Must be a bearing. Check the fluid level. Good luck.

TT over / underdrive
Do any of you have any experience with a "TT" transmission? I have one that came off a '29 worm drive rear end. It has three speeds. 1:1, 2:1 under drive, and a 1 1/4 : 1 over drive. It was bolted directly to the from of the worm drive. Big ol sq. box that hangs down. I also do not have th...
