Re: High Speed Odometer Gear

The speedometer drive gear should already be installed at the front of the torque tube.

That visor is not the right one for a 1928-E30.

Re: differential gear ratio

Like Chris said you need to remove the driven speedometer gear from the torque tube not the speedometer cable.

I am installing modern brakes and the new spindle kingpins are 1.055 or .050 bigger than stock. I am looking for another 31 axle?
OK, 1930-34 front axles are the same.

Why are you boring the ends of the axle?

Re: 1931 front axle questions

I measured a new king pin and it was 1.004. Model A rear shackles are the same as AA front.
King pins show up fairly often on Ebay.

.0015-.002 should do it. With only 1500 miles on the rebuild why are there no shims left??

What body goes on the chassis, I see it has three running board brackets for the long running boards.

Re: '31 Cab and fender removal

If you are going to do metal work on the fenders they should be bolted to the frame with the fender
braces and the head light bar bolted up. If you work on them off the frame chances of getting everything
lined up are slim.

The Judging Standards state that cast iron drums for the Model A came out in September 1931, not sure about the AA.
