Pull the side cover off and remove the distributor-oil pump drive gear and see if it's
missing a tooth or two. If it turns some time I don't think the timing gear is stripped.

Re: Steel Top roof wood
Just looked at my steel top. There is a wood bow at the back where the cab back and top meet
then moving forward are two metal bows and then the wood header over the windshield.

Re: new owner... with questions/want ads
I would be more concerned with dropping the pan and cleaning out the crud than pulling the head.

You can't see the horse shoe clip until you push the spider up, it
fits in a recess in the bottom of the spider.

The spring pivots should be mounted back where the cut up cross member is. The
springs in this picture are special and are longer than yours but the pivot is in the location
yours should be.

That frame has been hacked up pretty bad, the attached picture is what it
should look like by the transmission.

The 7-36 is the high speed rear axle. Are your wheels the 28-29 type or like the ones in the picture?

Steve, Go to the link, click on your state, then scroll down to chapter 67 "Antique and Classic Vehicles"
and it tells you what you need to do.

Like Chris said it looks home made. That looks like part of a fire plug on the front,
not a pump.

Re: new owner... with questions/want ads
You don't need to remove the steering wheel to get the light rod out, there is
a horse shoe clip at the bottom of the rod you need to remove and you
can pull it out.

You need 6.00 on the front, anything bigger will hit the brake rods when you turn.

Yes it looks like a 1930, the early ones used 29 sheet metal.

How about some more information or pictures. I assume you have a 4 speed trans. What spline do you need for the
rear axle, 1 1/4" 10 spline???
