Re: AA mail truck or other closed wood bodies

Here's an example of an early 1930 with 1931 wheels http://www.oldnycphotos.com/queens55l.html. Note 5 panels just below the roof line. This was the largest of the AA bodies. Most of the AA bodies had 4.

Re: AA mail truck or other closed wood bodies

Aldie Johnson wrote a book which includes measured drawings. See postalas.org. These drawings were provided by the government to the various suppliers of mail truck bodies.

Re: Worm Drive - Worm Thrust Bearing Lubrication?

Since the AA worm drive axle is a continuation of the TT version a look at page 12 of the April 15, 1919 Ford Service Bulletins is advised. The article is entitled " Lubricating the truck differential". No mention of the housing cap. The Service Bulletins of Sept. 1929 page 375 lists the c...

Re: aftermarket AA 1928-1929 wheels

Try Elliot Brown. His phone number above. I'll see him at the end of September at a flea market if he brings the wheels. I'm in RI and North Haven is an island off the coast of Maine. Not really handy. Best, Ed Hayslip

aftermarket AA 1928-1929 wheels

Elliot Brown tel:207-867-4888 in North Haven ME has a set of cast spoke aftermarket wheels which are duals on the rear. They use the Ford snap ring and the 1928 wire wheel type hub cap. Price for the 6 wheels $1000. They only fit the 1928-1929 truck and were designed to provide duals for that truck....

Re: First AA

Long runningboards were discontinued in July 12,1929 (7-24-29 Indianapolis Service Letter page 2) Your truck was probably an express. You'll need to replace the 1928-mid 30 headlight bar with the curved 1930-1931 style as shown on your car in the photo. Nice truck. Best, Ed

28 AA open cab express

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucNLHu9z14Y See 1:44 through 1:50. This truck was profiled back in the 1970's in an old car mag. Still looks the same today.

Re: Hello

The dual wheels on the back suggest this truck is an early 1930. Also the U bolts on the rear spring have the nuts on the bottom, a 1929 running change.

Re: 28 Windshield info

Snyder's Model A parts list A37323/24-AR called Model A Top Clamping Bracket. With a pair of these maybe a header of wood or plexiglass could be added to the top of your windshield. A view of these parts are on Snyder's online catalogue. Best, Ed

Re: rear fender braces

I have a bracket not attached to a vehicle yet. If you need a tracing of it or a xerox of it let me know. It's not for sale. Another thought is get a banged up front bracket and bend it to shape. A friend did this with success. Pilsyahs@gmail.com
