Re: differential gear ratio

You are looking for a tag on one of the diff bolts that reads 7-36 which should denote the 5.14 gear set for high speed.

Re: Mud Flaps for dual rear wheels.

I found conveyor belt works like a charm, also Ice rink mats is another good source for material. I mounted mine to the bed cross member behind the rear wheels and left about 4" clearance from the bottom to the ground.

Newer Drums

Have been looking for a source for newer drums to fit my 31 AA, but to no avail. Has anyone found anything to replace the rather overused drums?

Re: Side View Mirror Bracket AA-17698 (14-11/16" long)

I wish I had one to loan, two would be better. This is a problem on my truck, trying to see around the racks and what is behind. I wonder if a brass casting could be made up?

Re: Who's AA is still turnin' jobs?

Mine is not allowed to do any commercial work due to insurance rules, but any job that won't easily fit in my Modern GMC P/U with canopy is relegated to the double A. Gyproc sheets, Lumber runs, garbage dump, soil/sand, and even King size mattresses all get the big iron treatment. I find the Sierra ...

Re: Adjusting clutch

Make sure you've got free play on the pedal and the throw out is not riding the clutch. If the re-builder did not use the correct thickness of the clutch disc material, it may want to burn up and bed in. This will heat up the steel discs in a hurry and glaze the friction area. I'd let it cool down a...

Re: Got wheels assembled - safety question

I think you have enough of the lock ring engaged to be fine. Bending these hoops is not an easy thing to do but can be done. I had one that got bent while removing it and I managed to correct it cold using the rear bumper of a pick up and a 36" pipe wrench. I used the hitch ball and bumper to h...

Re: Clutch Pedal to the floor.

I believe the is a spring for the clutch pedal return that is missing AA-7523 that would help hold the pedal up. What ever happened in the clutch remain to be seen. http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/Conte ... 3-9935.jpg

I don't think FOMOCO would license that item in aftermarket. Try going to the wrecking yard and pull them out of a wrecked mustang. (Lots of them)

Re: !87-A Platform Stake Racks

Thanks for the info Neil, it help me understand a lot more about the rack assembly. I may modify the viewing panel I have to use on the front rack as I believe once the racks are installed all the view I can get will be helpful. The front Rack I had, had a piece of game fence or chicken wire in plac...

Re: !87-A Platform Stake Racks

Can you post pictures of what you have? Mainly front of your bed showing the stake pockets, stakes you have and length(height) of them. Ford wasnt the only one making stake racks at that time so you may have some parts from whositswhatsits. do you have the ford blueprint spec wood boards under the ...
