Re: Dist Shaft
My guess is you have some stuck valves that wouldn't let the cam turn and stripped the gear. You can change the gear without pulling the radiator. The gear is held on with a nut that take a special tool to get it off. Most of them have been messed up by people using a chisel to remove them. If you c...

Re: Dist Shaft
Possible stripped cam gear. Pull a spark plug out and see if the valves are opening
and closing as you crank the engine by hand.

The starter could be locked up, it's fairly common. Put the truck in high gear and
try rocking it back and forth.

The part number is BB-7222. You might try Bert's, Little Dearborn, or Joblot.

Re: 4 speed shift tower
Ford used the same tower from 29-42. I have repaired the tower by reaming the hole over size
and making a stepped pin.

Re: Working on restoring 1930 AA stakebed
That's a 82-B probably late 30. The blue Ford emblem on the radiator would be 30 not 31.
I think the single bar bumper is later 30. How about some pictures of the front wheels, back
of the bed, and steering column where is mounts to the gas tank or dash.
The picture is a 1930 82A
