Re: shaft housing and coupling shaft housing rear support

Dave: Where did you come up with the chassis parts list illustration of the "exploded" AA driveshaft/rear axle? Looks like it would be helpful to guys like me who disassembled a worm drive '28 rear end 30 years ago and still need to get around to putting it back together. Do they have one ...

Re: AA worth saving from scrap man?

Chris:
You can tell from the first photo posted that it's a late '31 steeltop cab; later photos confirm with the indented firewall. Looks like its definitely worth saving; not sure about the aftermarket sidemount arm but the welled AA passenger fender is a rare one.

Re: AA Truck Club shirt design

I'll take two XL's. Not to make this sound like the proverbial "a camel is a horse designed by a committee" but I'll chime in about a couple of the details on the shirt: From previous posts, several guys expressed an interest in having a later '30-'31 style cab on the shirt - with that bei...

Re: Spare tire Carrier

Here's what I have used for the past 30 years on my '31 AA Stakebed. I found the brass Ford script padlock at a swap meet and as you can see it serves the purpose. It actually came with a rubber "hose" piece on it which is the exact dimension to fill the hole in the spare tire assembly; n...

Re: the hood has what!

carnut14: Early '28 hood sides had louvers which were not parallel with the hinge line. The louvers were all the same height and were parallel with the lower edge of the hood side. They were this design through mid-28. Beginning in mid-28 through the end of '29 the hood sides were redesigned so the...

Re: Building a shed for the truck

modelel: Thanks for bringing us up to date - looks great! Your comment "I worked for awhile as a sawyer at a small sawmill and was able to get some rough sawn lumber home for free" made me think of the old Johnny Cash song, "One piece at a time." If you're not familiar...

Re: Building a shed for the truck

Not definetly sure but I think modeleh was selling his work horse a while back.......Wished I had waited another year. Farrell: Even if he sold the AA, I'd still like to see how his "shed" came out. It's like reading through all the garage build stories on the Garage Journal and seeing th...

Re: Building a shed for the truck

modeleh - I just read through your "shed build" postings which you started in December 2010 and wanted to get an update - your last post was March 2011. Can you bring us up to date? I laughed at a couple of comments made about the amount of junk we all acquire over the years and never hav...

Re: 29 AA sold At Barret Jackson

Here's a link to a discussion about the truck on The Ford Barn Forum I started yesterday; brought lots of replies and opinions. http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94741 Many of you know Molly was offered for sale on this forum for probably a year at $25,000 and the owner finally listed ...

Pat:
Square nuts are available in many sizes from boltdepot.com in either stainless steel or zinc plated.

Here's their website: http://www.boltdepot.com/Square_nuts_Zi ... steel.aspx

I've bought several items from them and they ship quickly.

Re: 1929 Ford Model AA Truck with Express Bed

The truck sold for $18,100. Pretty steep price to pay for an incorrect truck - hope that means those of us with "correct" trucks can expect lots more for ours!!! :P
