Re: Trade 30,31 for 28,29
There is only one '29 through mid '30 radiator shell for A and AA commercial vehicles. These shells are the same as the '29 A passenger shell except they are painted black rather than being nickel plated. Ford released radiator AA-8005 sometime in early 1930 for AA trucks. It has four rows of vertic...

Re: model AA , A fenders ?
I have not heard of one. There would be a very low market for this item. Making it a slow mover.

Re: model AA , A fenders ?
All rear fenders for the AA are unique AA parts. The '31 front fenders with wheel wells are unique AA parts.

Re: Engine paint
If you are going for original - most vendors sell the Ford engine green color in spray cans. I can't see trying to brush the parts!

I have no experience on this part. But, I would like to hear from you once you get some. A picture would be great.

Re: 29 style cab door fit problems.
Hello s147881, The cab doors can not be aligned off the frame! Below is some documentation regarding the hood and door alignment which may help. If the cab is not square at the top, then door alignment will not be possible. Ford 82-A Closed Cab – On AA Chassis Pre-Alignment: The AA frame side member...

Re: 1930 Floor Boards
Hello RLaurin, Attached is the drawing from the AA Floor Board article. It does not show the cut out for the AA brake peddle. Once you get the board installed, you can determine the location of the cut out and also insure that the slots, for the peddles, are deep enough. You could buy an A floor boa...

Re: Rear axle seals for my 29 AA
Try Bert's Model A Center in Denver if you have not already done so (800-321-1931).
It would be of interest to have information regarding the installation if anyone has some. I would guess that it is the same procedure as for the A?

Re: 1930 Floor Boards
Hello RLaurin, As far as I know, the AA floor boards are not available. However, Snyder's might be a source for the #2 board. My research is that the #1 AA floor board (for the 4-speed transmission) is the same as the #1 A floor board except for the cut outs for the brake and clutch pedal. This is b...

Re: High -lo unit for a AA ford
A picture eliminates misunderstandings!! Attached is a picture of what I think you have (from another AA'er). I have one of these transmissions (currently disassembled). It was installed in an AA with a worm drive chassis. The AA drive shaft was cut and installed at the front of the transmission and...

Re: Need help to ID splash Shields
RLaurin, If the fender splash shields are not usable on your truck, then they should be taken off by splitting the old tack welds. I don't know what the reproduction fender splash shields look like. It is likely that they will have a flange with bolt holes so that they work for either 30 or 31. I do...

Re: Need help to ID splash Shields
Hello RLaurin, I am guessing that your truck has the 82-B cab and therefore has the 30/31 style front fenders. For 1930, these fenders would have the A/AA fender splash shield spot welded to the front fender as you indicate. This is the case for both A's and AA's. For 1931 the front fenders would ha...

Hello Pat,
Attached is a drawing of the double bar AA bumper extracted from the Judging Standards. Note that the back bumper bar is attached to the bumper brackes with two u-bolts. The bumper brackets have notches for the u-bolts.

Re: 88-A Platform
Hello Roy, I have one set of the back issues left and I am putting your name on them to hold. I will have to get more sets made up. My research shows that the sills were 1-3/4 to 1-15/16 wide x 5-1/2 high x 100 long. I recommend making them 1-15/16" wide as this gives a better width for the ang...

Re: 88-A Platform
The 88-A article was in the April 1997 newsletter. This article was published in the MAFCA magazine (probably in '97 and/or '98) in three parts. Likewise, the article is published in volume 7 of "How to Restore Your Model A" (published by MAFCA). The original floor was made up of 1-1/4&quo...
