Re: Hood lace ?
Funny you should ask. I just pulled the tank out of my 29 tonight and before I did I took several pictures of the remenants of the lacing that is on mine. The wire is still completly intact on mine with some rementants of the lacing. Send me a pm and I'll send some high resolution pictures to you. D...

Re: The Lee Roy Hartung Collection Auction = Chicago
Yep, sure would be nice to see that auction. Don't think my check book is thick enough. Interesting red and blue head lights. Be sort of tough to drive at night with something like that. Sort of makes me think that it's not the real deal.

Re: split ring wheel retainer
scl009 Here is what I have done to get the tire off the rims and it worked rather well for me. Mine were really old and hard. On the split ring side take a saws all and cut completely around the outer edge of the tire along the tread. Then cut completely around the tire just outside of the retainer ...

Re: side mirrors 1928 AA
Mike I believe that the mirror mounts to the door pillar using the same two bolt holes as the visor. Don't know if a passenger mirror was standard or not.

Re: Windshield glass removal
I was thinking that my windshield might have had the original glass in it but now I see that it must have been replaced some time in the past. My lower left hand corner was cracked clear through and no sign of lamination in it. I'll be replacing both side and the front window with tempered and lamin...

Re: Windshield glass removal
I agree with Neil as I removed the top piece on mine not too long ago. It was a challenge to get some of the screws out. The original glass is nice but I'm going to replace mine with new safety glass. Plate glass is pretty scary stuff in an accident.

Re: Extra parts
I think that the stake pockets probably are original for your truck. If my pictures post ok you can see how I have stake pockets like yours on mine that are for the third / top board that would have 2x4 type legs extending down and through the stake pockets. Unfortunately the top boards on my truck ...

Re: Leak at the front of the dual high
Keith, no appoligies necessary. I appreciate your going to the extra effort to actually tear one apart for a look see. Is my dual high a bit different than the one that you and Jared are refering to. Mine only has 5 bolts not 6 holding the rear cover. When you guys refer to the pto cover are you tal...

Leak at the front of the dual high
I have the engine and the transmission out of my 29 at the moment and I've found there is a slow drip at the front shaft of the dual high. At the rate it's leaking it will probably take a month to leak and ounce of oil. Once the transmission is installed and the u-joint gets all greased up will it b...

Source for rubber pads for cab blocks.
I was in a Tractor Supply Company store a couple of days ago and noticed the flat rubber belting used for round bailers. It has the fabric reinforcement layers in the center of it and looks like it is just the ticket for making these pads. It comes in 3 different widths starting at 4" and is 3/...

Re: New to Ford Model AA World
Thank you Rem. I am getting more anxious to have the truck home now. I wil find some books on the engine and how to get it going and will match up the numbers on the frame and engine. I think if I get some oil in the engine and find the keys we may get somewhere quickly. Oh and some good gas might ...

Re: original truck
Great pictures! I'm missing the cover on my seat back and the bottom cover has been replaced many a year ago and is in need of it again. These will be good to have as reference in getting them re-done.
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Lifted the cab off today
Thanks for the pics. I wonder if you could photograph and post the bits when they are in place? Note my sign off, then you will get why! Well Dave we all have our vices. The small piece is just scrap. I only included it in the picture as a reference. Don't really think that it will make good...
