Re: New guy here

Welcome 30AA. I too am fairly new here. I drug home a late 30 in january of this year. I took mine down to the frame and building back up. Finding a few farmer repairs and fixes as I learn more of the way the truck should be. I'm making my truck a flat bed to haul a model T race car. Will paint the ...

Re: Gear oil

model T's use 600 in their rear end. Works great and unless you have a bad seal, it stays in the axle, not on the garage floor.

question regarding year change in wheels

I have located a place that has 1930 rims. However there is a question. My truck is a late 30. One style wheel tappers outward and then flattens across the stud holes, the other tappers outward and then has a secondary raised area across the stud holes. Question: When did the rim with the secondary ...

rear wheel/front spring ?

On the rear axle, can just the "outer" wheel be run?
The front spring set on my truck are only about 1 1/2 inch wide. Looks more like a model T spring. At the shackles there is washers being used as spacers where the springs are not as wide. Are these spring from an earlier year then 30?

opinion please

I have two 29 wheels but would rather have 30 wheels. If I can't find 30's what about this idea. The car I want to carry on the back of the truck has a wheel width of 64 inches with a low center of gravity. What if I put the 29 wheels on the rear axle (single wheels) would this give the truck a litt...

Re: firestone rims

Took rims to a truck tire shop. They took the rings right off no problem. Remove the two rings and tires cost $14.00. Plus then they will finish airing up my new tires in their cage at no extra cost.

Prior to installing the ring into its groove, should both the ring and groove in wheel be clean of paint? Should both the ring and wheel be clean metal?

Re: firestone rims

As I said Rolling, these guys told me they can not assemble the rings on tires because of OSHA. So you may have to assemble yourself. If you are looking for these 33-34 wheels, they are in near perfect shape. The bold pattern is about 1/2" plus wider apart.

Re: firestone rims

They said they could take them apart but that can't assemble them under OSHA rules. To me that was ok since they ar...

question for Bud Valeriurs

Too cheap to call you Bud. If we make connection friday, would you have the time or tools to pop the rear hubs off my axle? Last time I talked to Todd Williams, he was wanting to come up too. I plan to call him tonight. thanks
