Re: 1930 Ford AA Brake Question

I attempted to look up Steve or Steven Salazar to get my brake shoes relined for my AA and i had no luck. Does anyone know a good contact number for him or if he still does AA shoe relining I know this is an old post but I am hoping he is still around. Thank you, Steven Salazar died a number of yea...

Under separate cover I'll send you the copy of the page quoting "enamel" for wood parts.
Edwin, I do have the referenced page. So, no need to send. Thanks for the offer.

Re: 88-A Platform Bed Wood

I suggest the wood parts were painted enamel, not lacquer. See Indianapolis Service letter of 9-22-1930 page 5 listing enamel paints for wood parts of stake bodies and flat beds. I do agree everything was painted body color. I believe that the platform bodies and stake racks were assembled before p...

Re: 88-A Platform Bed Wood

Hi, Does anyone have the measurements to cut the grooves for the bed skid strips in the wood floor. I know the boards are to be 7-1/4" x 1-1/4" white pine (outer boards are a bit wider). Looking for how deep and wide the grooves are and also the offset of the groove from the outside edge ...

Re: Help with tires

Ford specified 6.00-20s all way around for duals and 6.50s on rear only for singles. I intend to run singles on mine. Looking for a good used 6.50-20 for a spare. Actually, Ford specified 32x6 for the 1930-1932 AA-chassis when dual wheels were not used. I don't agree that a 6.50x20 is actually a 32...

Re: Floating motor mounts

Hello Neil, .... Is there a different mount for the AA? Hello cokefirst, Yes, The AA-chassis had different engine rear supports than the A-chassis. Refer to https://aafords.com/aa-chassis/aa-5000-frame/frame-brackets/#ersa. Note that there was a design 1 support used in December 1927 which I believ...

Re: Need a quick drum taillight wiringmeasurement

Hello all, i need a quick measurement on someone's truck. Id have the pretty much straight maybe 6" long drum style taillight brackets (3 bolt holes to bottom of frame rail mounting style) and drum lights on a march of 29 AA but i need to know how long the wires are from bullet connectors that...

Re: Starting Crank Bearing

Ok, I will check out the measurement of the clip bar when I get it off. The crossmember does have a reinforcement riveted on the underside area that meets the spring. Your #1 cross member is most likely a replacement. Ford upgraded the service cross members to include the reinforcement (like the 30...

Re: Starting Crank Bearing

The A Starting Crank Bearing will be easy to find. I'll have to start looking for a couple of AA-5455 spring clips to fit what ever spring is under there, I may have one. Thanks Neil! More than likely, your 1929 AA has the front cross member with a slightly wider channel (1/29 Ford Service Bulletin...

Re: Starting Crank Bearing

Is the Starting Crank Bearing for a 29 AA the same as a 29 A? This would be part number A-5461-B. I see there is an AA-5461 listed for 30-31 in the Parts Price List, Effective July 1, 1931, but I don't see a listing for a 28-29 Starting Crank Bearing. The reason for the question is that there is a ...
