Dave,
I measured an axle I have and it is 1 1/4" - 12, a pipe thread that size would be 11 1/2 TPI.

Dave, I would cut the hub at the keyway. If you cut it there you will have
cut through the hub and relieved some of the pressure and you won't have to worry about cutting the axle, may ruin the key at worst.

Looks like a '31 front u-joint but if its 10 spline 1 3/8 it's probably a front for a '32-'34.
