According to the Jim Schild AA book, the 28AA came out with a front axle similar to the automobile axle with 11" drums, they continued the 11" drums till October 1929 when the heavier axle with 14" drums were introduced. According to the frame serial number it was made in october 29 b...

Re: Hydraulic Conversion
I'm restoring a 29 AA. I haven't started on the brakes yet but I've thought about them alot. I think I'll go with brake floaters on all four wheels. I've thought alot about converting the front wheels to cast iron drums. Does anyone think it's possible to take a model A automobile cast iron drum, th...

Re: treating top wood
Hi nreed. I've read some where that the top wood was painted but I've never seen a photo in any magazine or on the web where the wood was painted. I plan to paint my wood black. Recently I've spoke to people who know wood. They tell me that hard wood like the oak in the top wood has a tight grain an...

29 AA front bumper
Did all the 29 AA cc trucks leave the factory with chrome front bumpers, or did some have painted bumpers? If there were painted bumpers, what color were they?

Re: 29 AA fender help

door window felt metal retainers
I'm trying to restore a 29 AA cc. I'm working on the doors. I ordered a felt channel kit from Mikes. Was there a curved channel at the top of the door, held on by 3 screws that held the upper foam rubber?

door seals
I've just started the restoration of a 29 AA. I saw the post below on door seals. Does the windlace go all the way up both sides and across the top of door? I understand that the door panel holds the sides of the windlace on the lower part of the door, then the metal clips with the screws hold the up...

Re: Door seal
Hi, I'm restoring a 29 AA and I couldn't find much information on the door seals in catalogs. The only info I did find is in a Berts catalog, part #A-48190, the rubber strip is stapled to the inside of the upholstered door panel. You can go to Berts on line at modelastore.com carry on and keep up th...

Re: Door hinges
Hi, today I took the doors off my 29 AA, I completely dismantled the doors and I just read your post and looked at the hinges. They look the same from left to right. I looked in a catalog and they are very expensive for a set, so take care of them.
