Re: new guy
Like others have said you have a 28 29 running gear for the most part (worm drive rear axle for sure and frame are) cab is 30 31 and the motor is from a passenger car. That carb is late late 31 and they can go for $300.00 to $350.00. Pretty neat truck. Get it going and have fun with it. Use it aroun...

Re: Seat springs
You might want to check with Snyders....I believe he broke into the Model A business selling his seat springs. I know he sells a lowered one for roadsters and I think he will custom make springs for you.

Re: Front spring perch question
A "farmer fix" for an out of round wishbone ball was to put a big flat washer in there to tighten things up. It does work.

Re: Steering Gear
A and AA are the same. The 2 tooth sectors are better in my mind. Don't pay a lot as you are going to end up rebuilding anyway. Just get one so you can move it around while you try to get it started.

Re: New project, need advice
Nice little project and you are going about it the right way in my mind. get what you going and stopping safely and then start building what you want. I saw your other post about steering gears and the first thing I would would be to buy a complete steering column with wheel etc and install it so yo...

Re: Rear fenders
Keep in mind that the width is different as well. The A fenders are wider than the AA.
AA fenders are available...expensive but they are out there. The passenger sides are the hardest to find.

Re: frame paint removal
To answer your question I would need to know the type of paint that is on it now and what you want to put on it. If it's factory paint then just scuff it up real good and go from there.

Re: Installing a 30-31 hood and radiator shell on a 28
The deuce grille is always an improvement on any vehicle. Like I said in my earlier reply you needed to change to the 30 31 front cross member as the 28 29 is higher on the radiator mounts and it shows up on your truck. Your radiator is higher than your cowl. It's a little thing and if it doesn't bo...

Re: Help. I think I killed my starter. Engine won't crank
Now that you replaced the front pulley and star nut were you able to turn it over without the starter installed??? I don't think you have a seized engine but you need to eliminate the minor stuff one at a time. If it doesn't turn in neutral with the starter out you have other problems.
