Hi, I think you may need to have the shoes "arced" meaning simply that you will need to sand or shave down the leading edges of the shoe to match the contour of the drum.

TIGHTER SECURITY ON FORUMS

Due to an increase in BOTS and bogus user registrations I have had to increase the security on the forums. All "Guests" will be able to view and read topics, however to reply or post a new topic you will need to login or register to gain access to these features. Also, to prevent automated...

I would venture to say that this has not been of in oh about 74 years.... There is oil all over the big ca...

Re: AA rear races

I thought the race was a machined part of the axle housing. Is it removable? If so, how do you get it off? Hmmm, I must have misunderstood your question then, I thought you were refering to the bearing race that is inserted into the wheel. If you are talking about the axle itself where the bearing ...

You can get replacement bearings and races from MAC's or Synders, and probably several other A & AA Parts houses.

Mike, Do you have a part number for that seal.. I do not have a catalog for Bratton's or Mac's. available. My Brattons catalog would be in the barn which at the moment is under about a 10 foot snow drift.... I would like to get it on order so I have it to get started as soon as I dig a tunnel to th...

Where can I get the seal? Is this an easy thing to take care of or do I have to rip the whole rear axle apart to get to it? Thanks You can get the seals from Brattons or MAC's auto parts, you only need to remove the rear brake drum, which you would have to do if you were to replace the brake shoes....

Re: Rear end for 1931 AA

There is a oil seal that goes on the end of the axle tube. Attached is a picture of the rear axle with drum removed. I circled the oil seal in the picture. Hello, I am getting ready to start to take the rear wheels of and work on the brakes of my 1931 AA. My question is there is a small weap hole on...

It is a 28 Chevy with a York Body

I finally got the rest of the story from the owner (by way of my employee) it turned out to be a 28 chevy with the york body on it. I guess it is in mint condition with a lot of the orignal accessories, oil cloth curtains etc. The truck was in a wyoming barn under a tarp, the original owner forgot h...

30 or 31 woody?

One of my employees sent me this picture of his sisters Model A, it appears to be a 30 but the wood spoke wheels through me off. The reason I think it is a 30 or 31 is because of the cowl band.

Pretty nice looking truck though, what do you all think?

Re: Service Recorder - Commercial Accessory

Howdy All, I've been searchin' high and low for a Service Recorder, the accessory for accounting for the operating time for the Commercial vehicles. It scribes a thin line on the chart while the truck is inactive and a wide line while the truck is active. The movement of the truck makes a pendulum ...

Well thank you, thank you!!! I'll take your advice. Fortunately it has been beautifully restored with all original parts. No ribbons. I have pictures to attach for anyone interested. And I would certainly accept less for it. But not a soul has asked about. So, I'll contact MAFCA. Again thank you so...

Re: What am I doing wrong?

Hi. Could anyone advise me as to what I may be doing wrong in regards to selling a restored Model AA dump truck? I haven't even had one inquiry. Is my price to high? Forgive me as I know nothing about these beautiful vehicles. I inherited this beauty and I have no choice but to let her go. Thanks f...
