Thanks Bob - to me that looks suspiciously like a battery access cover that has been modified for the clutch access. Would I be lucky enough that someone would have a pic of an original in place. I need to know where the flat clips are located on the floor board too.

You will find the serial number on the top of the frame under the left front of the cab in the area of the front body block. In order to see it you'll need to lift the cab.
