High lights of the West coast?
Well the 13" of snow that we got today has me thinking about the family summer vacation. We're planing to fly into the San Francisco area rent a car and then spend about 10 days meandering up the coast ending up in Seattle and then flying home from there. Looking to see some big trees and a vol...

Re: I need picture(s) of the metal floor board plate.
Thanks Bob - to me that looks suspiciously like a battery access cover that has been modified for the clutch access. Would I be lucky enough that someone would have a pic of an original in place. I need to know where the flat clips are located on the floor board too.

I need picture(s) of the metal floor board plate.
Would anyone be able to post a picture of the metal plate that covers the area that is cut out in the floor boards to access the clutch inspection cover plate for a 29? My truck has the service brake handle on the left side of the cab.

Re: Working on restoring 1930 AA stakebed
You will find the serial number on the top of the frame under the left front of the cab in the area of the front body block. In order to see it you'll need to lift the cab. Worth taking a look as it will let you know what you have. It's your truck and you should restore it as it pleases you most. I ...

Re: Working on restoring 1930 AA stakebed
Hi Rien and welcome. On the windshield you may have to take a piece of hard wood and hammer and gently tap along the bottom of the frame and to work at getting things to break loose. I've heard folks use a bit of penetrating oil to help things along. I wouldn't get too awfully worried about breaking...

Re: 1929 aa stakebed
Just yesterday I asked the same question of Steve at Bert's Model A and this is what he sent me. Dave "On the door glass, you need to install the glass on the metal channels with the A45512 set tape. Install the regulators in the door first. Then take the felts, put them on the glass teproarily...

Re: 1929 floor plans?
Well I've got the lions share of the work done. Not going to cut out the area for the clutch access plate right now as the one that came with the truck is long gone. Have to see if I can find one and then go about fitting it at that time. Biggest challenge after cutting the dove tails was to make up...

Re: How do I remove window glass from window channel?
Definitely going to replace all the plate glass. Just trying to get it out for the glass shop to use for a pattern. Got the one out I was working on.

How do I remove window glass from window channel?
What have you found works for getting the glass out of the window channel. Mine is being pretty stubborn.

Re: 1929 floor plans?
Your jointery looks great Dave, but as a former cabinetmaker, may I suggest assembling the wood so that the grain S'es into each other, rather than arches together the way you have it in the picture. It will make a stronger joint and will keep it from buckeling as the wood expands and contracts wit...

Re: 1929 floor plans?
Shelby, Thanks for the pictures of the dowels. Would you be able to post a picture of the board showing both cut outs for the pedals. Today I took my floor board to our local specialty wood dealer. He felt that the wood most likely is maple. The maple that he had on hand seemed to be a good match so...
